Did you? Yes, we have known one another for just over four years. There's always been something the midst. We ran from it for a while, but finally submitted to what we believe to be the Lord's will.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

Since the public school year is about to begin, thought I'd bump this thread. Go back to page 1 and read the article.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

I have to say that you have good points, but man you may need to work on your communication skill a little bit, lol.
That first paragraph puts your readers in defensive mode without giving them the chance to be persuaded first. I would put that incendiary conclusion toward the middle or the end.

I do appreciate you putting all this together because is a good wake up call.
I do have several counter examples, but I will bring one from my Church.
There is one couple that have sent their kids to public school and yet all their kids are godly, living for God and marrying godly people. Somehow their parent managed to make their voices louder than the teachers when it comes to truth. If we focus on the result, I would say it worked out for them.
Of course, I have seen the opposite as well, but just trying to bring counter examples.
The other one is that this works great in the USA but not in countries where, or you send them to public school, or your kids are taken away from you.

The majority of children who play in the middle of the highway get hit by cars. Does the fact that some children have played in the street and yet have not been hit justify sending your child to play in the street? Would you be a good, godly parent for doing so, betting against the odds, gambling on your child's life? No, it's another failed excuse.

Objection 8 – My state forbids it. We must obey God rather than men. If you won't give your child a Christian, Biblical education, and deliver them out of the hand of the wicked, simply because some evil, godless bureaucrat “disallows” it, then how can you possibly claim to be a Christian? Christian, but only if it doesn't cost time, money, effort, or stress? Another failed excuse, one which satan loves probably more than any other, because it is an admission of cowardice, pure and simple. And the fearful shall have their part in the lake of fire, according to Jesus Christ, in Revelation chapter 21 verse 8.

We don't consign anyone anywhere. Jesus however said if you cause a child to stumble you would be better off never having been born. That can only be possible if the fate He warned about was the second death. Sending children to public school causes them to stumble. The reasons are laid out and are entirely Scriptural. Parents whose children are in antichrist government indoctrination centers need to be warned, and need to repent while there's still time.

Well, I would rather send my kids to public schools and reteach them at home, than having the govt agencies take my kids away.
The first option is rough but at least I can teach them the word of God and give them arguments for those same things they are going to find in the world anyways (like evolution).
The second option you won’t be able to teach your kids the word of God ever again.

I have lived in more than two countries, I can tell you this can actually happen.

Some people aren't willing to let strangers kidnap their children, regardless of what clownsuit disguise they wear.

Re: Public school and the Christian parent

Esaias,

I can testify that homeschooling children is a tremendous investment of time, finances and other resources. In my opinion the rewards are much greater than the costs and I would encourage everyone do so if it seems even remotely possible.

I can only encourage others to do so. Life is complicated, I know but I think we will never regret the efforts.

When we plant a garden, we get results in ninety days. If we have not protected our young plants we will likely be disappointed in the results. But we think we can entrust our most precious “increase” to strangers?

It really doesn’t equate. I’m not trying to discourage anyone. I Would like to ENCOURAGE all parents to invest time and resources in their children. It will pay great dividends. It is a scriptural truth.
