The Christian Right

I am going to say this and it probably will offend alot of people in the forum.

Those of you who live in the US and are apart of the "Christian Right" and are for laws that want to prohibit abortion and anti-gay marriage need to remember that the US is not heaven. God went away to prepare a place for us. The Christian Right need to stop trying to force their beliefs down people throats and realize the US could have easily been a Muslim country and Christians wouldn't have the freedom they do in the US. Thank God for separation for church and state!

Jesus didn't bother with trying to change laws so why should I? As long as these laws do prohibit me from trying to be like Jesus, other can do what they want. Leave me alone.

All the Christian Right people are doing is setting a bad example for us sane Christians. Forcing your beliefs on others is not shining the light.

Re: The Christian Right

All politics is legislated morality. So which moral code is to be legislated? God's? Or man's?

Most Christians prefer man's rule rather than God's, unfortunately.

The Christian Right would get 90% of what it wants by default if we went strictly by Constitution. But instead of trying to restore Constitutional government, the Christian Right tries to fix everything by pushing to get "good judges" appointed. But you seem to advocating Christians not being involved in the political process.

Yes, because those who profess Christianity are so good at running their own religious institutions...

Catholic Church sins, pastors stealing money from the church, affairs...

These things are prohibited in Christianity. Whatever system you have there will be corrupt men. The problem is that now we have a corrupt system with corrupt men. Do you profess to be a Christian? If not why here on AFF?

I'm not saying that.

What I am saying is that the Christian Right should not be trying to legislate the bible. They should concentrate on living the bible and let their light shine.

Realize that everyone in the US is not a Christian and people have the right NOT to be one. Freedom of religion, Freedom to choose, Separation of church and state.

That's all fine. But if anything is imposed on a State through unconstitutional Federal overreach, it needs to be resisted. If a sovereign State chooses to allow gay marriage or not allow it , etc that is their right.
