Re: Trump 2nd Impeachment- 2 opposing views

“Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States.”

This is the language that Schumer brought up today and emphasized “AND disqualification, etc...”

So, I am thinking that if they can’t impeach him, they will try for the second part, disqualification, as though it can be a separate issue.

Great. Just heard Jordan Sekula’s say that this Constitutional wording is a “combo” and if you can’t remove him, you can’t disqualify him.

Good to know.

Jay Sekulow plays in a band with Petra's John Schlitt. He needs to get back to it.

Yes, I have listened to them. I am glad he has a good release from his legal work. That has to be helpful.

I used to watch him on some show in the 90's. No idea what it was called.

This tells me that the Dems realize they pulled off a fraudulent election, and they don't wand anyone digging deeper.

They didn't. They somehow let that appalling John McCain become the rudder of a disastrous mid-term ship.

How appalling is/was McCain? I think he got the nomination in 2008 to LOSE ON PURPOSE. And the cynical treatment of Sarah Palin proves it.

Another day. I could write an essay about that vacuous coward.

I think the plan was to create a permanent new order where the GOP candidate would always lose. It was the establishment buffer to keep a real conservative out of the White House. Jeb Bush was the anointed sacrificial lamb for the GOP in 2016. But the populist Trump blew their plan all to oblivion.

Re: Trump 2nd Impeachment- 2 opposing views

Andrew McCarthy, at National review, has an interesting take:

Democrats Are Laying a Trap with Trump’s Impeachment Trial

It must always be considered. In the world of sleight of hand, there is a phrase called "make every move a move"--meaning "economize your motions to include a furtherance of the effect.

The left gets it. They rarely do things without an ulterior effect. The right just assumes that goodness will prevail in a cesspool, and allow themselves to be incorrectly framed over and over again.

Re: Trump 2nd Impeachment- 2 opposing views

Trump was a populist not a conservative.

Even if he did run I don’t believe he can win in 2024, but I believe he can be instrumental in creating a new political party that is more centrist which is probably the best way to combat extreme liberalism.
