A Prince of God Has Passed!

Sad to learn that J T Pugh has left us. He preached my highschool graduation 47 years ago and influenced much of my life since. His messages were like poetry and I'll never forget, "The Forgotten Prayer Request", "Stars You've Never Seen Before", "Time and Eternity", "Anointed But Not Blessed" and many others. Our loss but Heaven's gain. Father, rest the soul of JT Pugh safely in your arms today and give comfort to his family.

Re: JT Pugh Passed Away This Morning

I read the title of this thread with sadness. As a child growing up in Alaska in the 1960's and early 1970's J.T. Pugh was a frequent guest preacher at Alaska churches and Campmeetings. He was a tremendous blessing and will be missed. Oh, and he and his sister Velma were born in the same teeny tiny Louisiana town as my father was.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

A tremendous man of God, I loved to hear Bro. Pugh preach, and loved to hear him just share and speak from his heart. He was a visionary, and I"m sure he will be greatly missed.
