What rules did Jesus break to save us?

He never said "us". He said the word "me" making it something personal to himself. I dont know what he had in mind maybe something like Jesus said here.

Mark 2:23-26

23And it came to pass, that he went through the corn fields on the sabbath day; and his disciples began, as they went, to pluck the ears of corn. 24And the Pharisees said unto him, Behold, why do they on the sabbath day that which is not lawful? 25And he said unto them, Have ye never read what David did, when he had need, and was an hungred, he, and they that were with him? 26How he went into the house of God in the days of Abiathar the high priest, and did eat the shewbread, which is not lawful to eat but for the priests, and gave also to them which were with him?

The rule Jesus cited may have been Exodus 29:31-32.

32And Aaron and his sons shall eat the flesh of the ram, and the bread that is in the basket, by the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. 33And they shall eat those things wherewith the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them: but a stranger shall not eat thereof, because they are holy.

The priest SAVED David and his men by breaking the rules that day. Jesus was good with that. Does that mean we should look for a rule to break? No.

It is what it is.

Relax and worship the Lord.

Yeah that is what it comes down to. Relax, worship the lord, and ignore the guy behind the curtain.

Because you and Apostolic1ness are not going to go willingly.

Especially when you have some scripture tossed at you and then told to RELAX, and just worship?

I should definitely be more lemming-like. I also don’t know what “Jesus winning my heart” means. I’m too dense to sing songs like this.

Jesus won my heart long ago. Sorry to hear you dont understand this. Pauls life and ours also should be about WINNING CHRIST.

Phil. 3:7-8

7But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. 8Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

There is a LOVE relationship with Jesus. Its not just a LEGAL relationship.

With responses like this, I can understand why Bro. Benincasa doesn’t cut you any slack. Try to rein in the condescension next time.

I understand the idea of US winning CHRIST. I do not understand the idea of Christ winning us. According to this song, He broke the rules to do so. Are you worshipping a YAH who cheats to win?

Songs like this get everything exactly backwards. This is the religious equivalent of the Lombardi Trophy winning Tom Brady.

Are you saying Christ has NOT won your heart?
