There is a call, a need for consistent and constant examination, levelheaded reasoning, and not emotional, run-to the altar tonight because the sky is falling!!!!

When I hear this junk being spewed to Young people it really gets under my skin! Young people are impressionable and their futures are already uncertain enough with out people, preachers constantly telling them they have nothing to live for (in essence) so they should get to the altar NOW!
Man, that is the truth!

I understand. I think what you've described above is wrong.

However, I do have a feeling that there is something stirring in our country now that we need to not ignore.

Our sermon this morning was about the same thing that was mentioned. As Americans we are a spoiled, rich country and each day there are efforts to take God out of our system - - not a good combination.

If it was just a scare tactic I would wholeheartedly agree.

Carp, people today don't scare anyways. they are numb to everything. hollywood and entertainment has got everyone dumbed down. our nation cares about who was Anna's baby daddy and the newest gagets. no one hardly pays any attention anymore to what is going in Iraq.

This was a bible study NO Alter call, nothing about trying to scare someone to repent.

this was a sobering word given to the body at the end of a bible lesson.

you've got our church and what went forth mixed up with the typical sermons you've heard. there was a different ring to this

Yes I do of course but he also speaks to his servants a prophets and I'm not talking about the ones with their names flashed in neon lights.
