Does anyone use Google Earth?

I downloaded the free version of google earth and have been attempting to use it - Alas, to no avail. .......I type in the address at "fly to" but I cannot see anything much. I have a friend who uses it and she can see the "Tops of people's houses", etc. .....If you use the free version, do you have any suggestions on what to do? I went to control panel and set the resolution as recommended (can't remember exactly what that was)......Does anyone use this? My friend uses it to view historic places, geographic areas of interest, etc. I have used the maps at weather.com to locate particular areas with more clarity than google earth.

Thanks,
TalkLady

I just went to Mapquest and tried it........Can't really see much. My friend says when she does it, she can actually see the tops of houses...When I get so far in zooming, I can see nothing and have to zoom out. ???

I use the free version all the time. I love it. I can go over the whole route and see the different landmarks along the way.

Try typing in a major city and it will amaze you as it will bring the buildings into focus. When I first started using it you couldn't see our house, since then it has updated and I can see the top of our house clearly.

Can you actually see the shape of people's houses - close up and trees, etc?...All I see is a blur for everything. Maybe my computer is too old. It's a Pentium 3 with 512 MB...1.6 something or other. Whaaa. I can't get this to work at all.

All I see is blur.............I can see more at weather.com than at google earth. I am too tired to bother with it tonight, but may work on it after work tomorrow. Thanks for your reply!
