The English Majority Text Version

For anyone is interesting of the Majority Text i found this:

http://www.majoritytext.com/

I also have it downloaded for The Word program. I dont know very good English but i think that is very accurate in the original Majority Text.(thus a very good supplement, not a replacement of KJV)
It is "critical" but with the use of Mojority texts family only.
I only trust the Majority, the Textus Receptus and the Greek Orthodox text
The amazing thing is that both 3 texts are somehow critical.
The Greek Orthodox is uses sources from all over Greek texts used in Greece 16 century.
The TR uses some text as was used out of Greece from around 9-15 century
The Byzantine Majority Text uses only texts from 3-4 century until 9th .
And the good news is that those three texts does not have any significant differences. The small defferences they have, are grammar things like:
1)text: "The Lord say to them.." 2)txt :"Jesus said them" or 3)text: "The Lord Jesus said to them".
As opposite to the minority texts that not only differ from the Majority but also contradict one the other.

Re: The English Majority Text Version

The problem with the majority text is that it does not account for the transmission of the text. Some variant readings can be dated.

Most manuscripts were created in a certain time period. The majority text ignores the importance of the age of a manuscript.

Geography also comes into play. Yet this is also dismissed by the majority text.

A majority text ignores all aspects of a manuscript and counts all manuscripts as if they are identical.

Yes! The Word of God has to be identical. In the time of 1700 rears one text agrees with an other.
But the minority are contradict one with the other. Even if one or two of them are considered older from the majority this dont means nothing.Because if "the older is the best" then why the two oldest texts contradict one the other?
Anyway i have also "Alford, Westcott - Hort and Critical text but i dont give them the same trust as the original text.
God bless.

Re: The English Majority Text Version

No 2 Greek NT manuscripts are word for word identical. Each NT manuscript is one of a kind.

There are no identical Greek manuscripts of the New Testament.

Majority text means that the majority of the texts are very semilar.
The only differences are grammatical for example one text maybe says something like " the grace of our Lord and God Jesus Christ be with you " while the other text has :"the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you" and an other maybe say it like: "may be with you the grace of our Lord"
Not really serious differences !Thats why is called"majority", and theres a small
minority of texts that has serious errors! For this reason are used from Jehovah witnesses etc. But again those texts dont even agree one with a other ! Missing chapters, missing verses etc.
I dont think that the world at any moment did not had the Word of God neither that the Word changed! Is a continual and unmistakable holy book.

Re: The English Majority Text Version

How does one determine if a variant reading is serious or not ? How long does a phrase need to be to be considered important ?

I suppose that any variant from the above is not important , because dont change the meaning , the message, the doctrine or even the exact Words of our Lord.
From the other hand if a verse is missing is important. Also violates doctrine it is serious.
example:
"Peter went to the doctor yesterday" (original)
"Yesterday, Peter went to the doctor" (not serious error)
"Peter went to the doctor" (it is ok)
"Peter never went to a doctor" (important variant..lie)
