You said that "it's a souther thang" and that "ya'll wouldn't understand" when she expressly stated that she is from the south!!

But she can't be from the south if she doesn't put sugar in her cornbread, because not putting sugar in her cornbread is a northern thing.

BTW, Everyone that I know from the south puts sugar in their cornbread.

Man, I don't know where you've lived, but NO ONE in this area of the country puts sugar in the cornbread!!! It is bone dry and not a bit sweet in any restaurant or anyone's home. If anyone does put sugar in the cornbread, they know you are an import.

Me either, unless it's that Jiffy stuff that Sherri was talking about. Not in regular cornbread. And yes I'm from the south.

For dinner tonight, I ate WAY too much stuff at the church picnic!!! I had one lady that kept saying, "I made this dessert for you because I know you like it" and another one: "Sherri, you're going to have to try this new dessert; I thought of you when I made it", and then my MIL slapped a Peter Paul Mounds brownie on my plate, wanting me to try one of hers. What's a body to do????? I didn't want to offend any of these dear ladies.
