Lily and Dottie were very good friends. Lily inducted Dottie into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

LOL!!!! I thought the same thing. I don't know the whole story but I do know that somehow they became friends and that when Lily Tomlin's mom was in the hospital with I think cancer Dottie would visit and sing to her and make her laugh, etc. I also think she sang at Lily's mom's funeral or some other family member. Lily Tomlin presented Dottie with an award a year or two ago. I can't remember exactly what but it might have been for the Kentucky Hall of Fame.

Really? That is very interesting, I had no idea. I wonder how that connection was made, Lily Tomlin never struck me as a Gospel music aficionado. Of course, I don't know that much about her, but that is still very interesting to me.

Sorry no pics. They had the church video cameras on (not the best in the world) and I am guessing they probably recorded it to DVD for the family but I don't know if they will make them available. I hope so.
