Really? What’s wrong with Trump being the new face of the Republican party? You think after Trump the Republican Party is going back to George Bush era? I don’t think so...

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you. If you don't know what party platforms are, then you should read about it.

The Dems platform policy is pro-choice and in 2012 they removed the sole reference to God from their platform.

Show me anywhere in the GOP party platform the references to morals you partly misquoted about Trump.

The face is not the party platform. It can influence the platform, but that won't happen.

I certainly hope it doesn't!

W was a globalist. He wanted foreign wars and conflict. W got us into an absolute mess in the ME.

No, I hope we never go back to the W era.

I’m saying Trump is the face of the Republican Party. His brash, frank, New Yorker attitude I believe is what got him elected. If Cruz, Rubio, or any other republican were the nominee they would’ve gotten beat against Hilary Clinton. Trump comes in the maverick of business, like him or hate him, he tapped into what the elites never could, he speaks what people think. We will probably disagree on this, when you have a face or a leader that leader has the opportunity to change the platform. Trump i believe is in favor for gays, he may not voice support for gay marriage. Yet, Trump held a flag LGBT or Gays for Trump when he was the nominee in 2016. I believe if he opened it up the party would accept what he wants. Just my opinion. What I meant by you will not go back to a bush era nominee, Trump set the tone who the republicans want. To go back to a more polite politics is out of the question.

I mostly agree with you. Only disagree with gay marriage being accepted as a GOP party platform.

I definitely agree the GOP won't, and shouldn't, go back to a more polite politics.

I’m hope I’m wrong about the gay marriage feeling. If they do, I believe that could be the opening for a third party. I guess time will tell.

The GOP can no longer claim to be morally superior if their party leader is notoriously immoral. A vote for Trump is a vote for immorality.

When you go to the doctor, do you inquire about his moral behaviors? How about a mechanic? Or any one else that provides public goods and services?

See, most people don't even care one bit about if their doctor is a thrice-divorced womanizer, or if their mechanic like porn, or if the guy at the fill-up station smokes dope, or whatever. They just want the best person for the job, regardless of morals.

But when it's government, suddenly everyone acts like they care and they get all up in arms over any perceived flaws in someone's moral character. Who cares if the mail-man is homosexual or drinks too much, he just delivers the mail, but the president, well, now it's time to care!
