Re: Is The Serpent Seed Doctine A "Damnable Heresy

This is just my opinion, but right here is what I believe may have been the turning point in Branham's ministry that eventually caused all the hoopla we hear about:

During the mid 1940s Branham was conducting healing campaigns almost exclusively with Oneness Pentecostal groups [15]. The broadening of Branham's ministry to the wider Pentecostal community came as a result of his introduction to Gordon Lindsay in 1947, who soon became his primary manager and promoter

I am not blaming this Lindsay fella 'cause I don't know who he is. It does appear, however, that this is where Branham started parting company with Oneness doctrine.

I heard a story once about a man of God who eventually went astray. A young man was completely taken by the things this certain evangelist had accomplished in his life, prior to the evangelist's fall. This young man would read copies of all this evangelist's sermons, listen to any recordings that were available of this evangelist's preaching, enamored with all the glorious things God had done via the evangelist's ministry. He eventually found himself following the teachings of this evangelist. In a private discussion with his pastor, the pastor vehemently rebuked this young man for doing what he had been doing. "I don't understand why you would get so upset, Pastor. This was a great man of God before he fell from grace." The pastor answered, "That may be so, but something caused him to fall. I can promise you it's somewhere in all these sermons and recordings you are listening to!"

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Yes I heard. SH was never a Branhamite but the Abernathys were to some degree.
