The world owes a debt to men like Charles Mahaney. He was Mahaney - plain and simple - and if you didn't like him then that was pretty much your problem. He didn't seem to waste a bunch of time with trying to impress people and elevate his particular appeal in the eyes of others.

He was an Evangelist in most every sense of the word and preached stirring messages throughout Pentecost. Just last week I was talking about those who were 'true' Evangelists and the one name that kept coming up was Bro. Mahaney's.

Somehow today the burden on my shoulders feels a little more heavy knowing the voice of a friend has been silenced.

Bro Mahaney was one of a kind. I loved to hear him preach, he had a unique ministry.

I had just sat and talked with him in late January. I'm a nobody, and he was a somebody. He didn't seem too impressed with himself. He made me feel like I was special. Roughness and kindness in one swell package. I'm so sad to hear he is gone.

I remember as a young kid that everytime He preached and my dad was there.........He would call dad a turkey over the pulpit.........Wonderful memories.

I never met Bro. Mahaney. Never heard him preach that I can remember. For some reason our paths just never connected.

My sympathy goes to his family and friends and all those who knew and loved him.
