I tuned in and it brought back memories.
His voice and preaching style are unmistakable.
Just being strictly analytical, I think at 70-some years old, he preaches circles around the people who are supposed to be the UPC's "top guns" these days.
Man, what preachers there were when I was a kid.
I did have to chuckle when he started the Israel invading Iran thing.
It reminded me of 42 years ago in 1967 ( I wasn't there) at Tioga, La. at Sr. Youth Camp when he held up the newspaper when Israel and Egypt started the Seven Day War.
In fairness, Kenneth Phillips never was a prophecy-obsessed preacher.
It's just funny how you change when you get older.
I still respect my old mentors like Marvin Treece very much but this trying to pull signs out of the newspaper and attaching prophecy to every news story sounds a bit ... well "ridiculous" may be too strong a word - but along that line.
Blume and Benincasa may have converted me.
If I were still a pentecostal preacher these days, I'd probably be a preterist.
Premillienalism in pentecost does seem to be grasping at straws these days.
