NO!!!!! It's pickups on a Gibson Les Paul and similar guitars. In the pic posted in the opening post of the thread, the three Steve Winters each have a guitar. BigBeard in front has a Gibson style guitar, BraidBeard in the back on the left also has a Gibson type guitar. The other Winter in the back is playing bass. BigBeard in front is the one with double humbuckers, as is Braidbeard.

I have a Shecter (Gibson style clone) with double humbuckers. It makes a CLASSIC screaming, heavy blues sound. I prefer it to the Strat, different tone. Strats have a nice, Hendrix type sound, but the double humbuckers on a Gibson type just, in my opinion, sound waaay better.

Single coils wound in a single direction around the pole....(little silver round bits or bar you see in the pickup tend to produce more hum due to no cancling from an opposite wind. They sound a bit chimey, produce a smaller signal and due not saturate an overdrive.

Humbuckers have two rows of poles wound in opposing directions which tend to cancel the hum. Look up induced voltage. Buckers produce a more full tone and will drive harder or eirlier into overdrive. My strat is HHS (2 humbuckers and a single) the originals had 3 singles. My Tele has two humbuckers with a coil tap that turns them bsck to singles selectively.

I love running my Schecter on front pickup, amp in overdrive, gain at about 75%... gives my neighbors the BLUES, baby!
