Massive Explosion In Small Texas Town

An explosion has been reported at a fertilizer plant that is on fire in the town of West in McLennan County on Wednesday night.
A fire at the plant in the 300 block of Haven Street was reported shortly after 7 p.m.
Sources tell NBC 5 that the explosion occurred while firefighters were at the plant on a fire call.
Please pray, we have friends with family there that have lost their homes.

Probably so, it is 19 miles from Waco, Texas. There is an AFF member that his wife has family there.

I remember where West is now! When I would drive from Austin to Dallas it is right on the interstate and my ritual was to stop there at the "Czech Bakery" for Kolaches and little rolls with sausage in them. Amazingly good food!

Margie, it may be since firefighters were already on scene because of the fire. There were some injured or likely killed from the explosion. They were doing triage on the football field of the high school after the explosion.
