Help keep Constantinople in Muslim chains

Well, that is the irony, isn't it?

By treaty, if any "Christian" nation tries to liberate Constantinople from the Muslim hordes that conquered it in 1453, the USA is bound to see to it the city remains "Instanbul." Am I the only one who sees a problem with this? It's not that the Kingdom of God is dependent on an earthly city. By no means!! But the symbolism is remarkable.

Oh sure, some might say, "That was over 500 years ago!" But those same people had no problem with Israel being reconstituted after 2000 years of non-existence. I say if Putin decides to restore Byzantium, we should stand aside.

Putin wants to restore the Hagia Sophia? To return it to the Orthodox Church?
