That was really neat. It reminded me of winters when I was a child. And of my Grandmother's home in Maine.
Last week I bought an outhouse for my Christmas village which I am going to set up soon. It reminded my of my Grandmother's house. She never did have running water in her home. Us kids thought it was really a novelty. They even had outhouses at the church.

Here is one I found that I like. Just seems so romantic to be walking across the bridge. I use to love to Christmas shop just once in a huge snowstorm. It wasn't hard to accomplish in NH but a little harder to do in CA.

Sis. BOOMM,
One of the scenes brought tears flowing as the lady coming from
the barn reminded me of 1944-45, Dad overseas in the Phillipines and
then to Japan in WWII. Momma had an old cow she would milk to pro-
vide milk for us chidren. She had to go down a distance in the pasture
to the little barn (small) where she kept the cow. One day as she was
returning to the old house where we four young children, the oldest
maybe seven, were waiting. All of a sudden she saw a flash of bright
light through the window. Snow on the ground, she ran, dropping her
milk bucket as she raced to her babies. Inside, I don't know to this
day other than it had to be God that caused me to run to the free
standing stove that was attached by a rubber hose to the gas jet behind
it. The stove stood a short distance from the wall. My little brother just
younger than myself, had walked behind the stove, catching his foot on
the rubber hose, causing it to come loose from the gas jet. I remember
reaching down and turning the gas off. We were not allowed to touch
or mess with the stove, etc. I was probably five, going on six years. I
know it was the hand of the Lord God who saved us. My dad, a young
husband and father had committed his family into the Hands of a Faithful
GOD and a Father Himself. There were many other times God protected
us in times of danger. I trust Him with all that is within me!!

Wow, what a story! God sure kows how to take care of us.
My Mom tells of when she was little, around 4, she was watching her little sister for a few minutes while my Grandmother went downstairs. There was a box of matches on the stand next to her sister's crib. My Mom took them and moved them to the other side of the stand. Then my Mom ran downstairs to tell my Grandmother something. My Mom was told to get back up the stairs, which she did. When she got up there her sister's blanket was on fire. That quick she had gotten to the box of matches and started a fire. They think she put the match in her mouth and started the fire on her teeth. Quickly, my Mom, only at the age of four took water and put the fire out, just in time to save her sister. God was watching that day too.
