Like Esther, I think it's beautiful, but dangerous. We had an ice storm here several years ago and we were out of power for a week.

Here in Tulsa we have been hammered...over 200,000 without electricity...
Our house is still on though--thank the Lord!! Entire neighborhoods with hundreds of homes just across the street from our neighborhood have been off since early this morning...
The temp is hovering around 32 right now with more rain falling....we've lost two trees so far in our yard...
I am wishing for a call to South Beach or Hawaii about now...:santathumb

I work with a lady whose father lives in Tulsa and he was told they will not get the electricity back on for a week!

Our worse ice storm a few years ago there were folks that didn't have electricity for months - they ran out of transformers and had to assemble them.

The home my daughter lives in has no power, but they have gone to relatives who have a big generator. She was watching a movie when I called, so I guess it's feeling pretty normal where she's at.

Within the month all Tulsa shall be illuminated by the glow of the righteous ones.

Yes, we do. It is not fair! It is going to be 83 today. Yuck! It doesn't feel like Christmas at all.
We usually go to Colorado every Christmas. We aren't this year and I am going to miss all the beautiful snow.:(

It's in the high seventies here today; craziest weather I've ever seen!!! I want it to get cold so I'll actually feel like doing the rest of my Christmas shopping. I just can't seem to get in the mood for it.:horn

That is crazy, the weird thing is, we don't get snow (well, once every ten years or so) but in CA where I am at, this morning it was 38 when I was leaving for work. Shiver! :snowwoman

Well those pics are looking a little like my yard here in illinois randy.
Our home sits on a hilly acre with about 15 trees. I've got limbs down all over the yard.
It is beuatiful to look at though., but a mess to clean up.
I just filled five buckets with water plus filled a cpl sinks and the tub in anticipation of loosing the power lines.
We are on on our own well, so no power no water ;-(
Hope we don't but wejust had people close to us without power for almost a week after last ice storm.
Merry Christmas !!

We are still without power! But...we belong to a small co-op (only 12,000 customers), so we may actually get power on before those with the bigger companies.
Here are some pics with ice on the trees and what our yard looks like now that everything has thawed out. Fortunately, no really terrible damage, except to our poor trees, and a big mess to clean up this weekend.
