A reliable source from inside the Odom family has told me that Floyd and Ramona Odom have gotten an apartment in Tulsa. It looks like the brethern are really departing. My thoughts are that Floyd will be the General Supt of the new movement. Any other thoughts?

Not surprised.
The brethren took this more seriously than the nay sayers wanted the grass roots to think.

Why would one move to Tulsa? There is not a large delegation of the soon-to-be members living there. Seems a little strange in the days of email and phone based ways of doing business.

He has not been happy for many years. He did not support KH. He wanted JJ. He's a good man, and could be such a blessing with some balance. He never ascended the ranks of the UPCI, so this is his way of trying to make a difference.

I would guess that you are right. Since most of the men thus far named are coming from the UPCI it would indicate a belief in the AF of the UPCI.
My perception is that. generally speaking. men are leaving over what they see as a departure by the UPCI from the AF. It is not even so much that there is not a prohibition against TV adertising in the manual now, as it it is that there was one and it was repealed. Rightly or wrongly this is seen as a statement and a departure from what the UPCI has stood for and preached through the years.
Notice I acknowledge speaking very generally.

Floyd Odom was the evening preacher at Colorado Camp meeting when the Colorado Camp meeting had significance and he caught some severe heat from ministers when at the end of one of his sermons (of which, what he said had context, but I don't really remember the topic), he stood on a chair and yelled into the mike..."I command every person in this room in the Name of Jesus to get up and dance unto the Lord.!!!!!!" Of course it went nuts (did I mention this is when the Colorado Camp meeting was on fire?).
Man I remember hearing some pretty hard stuff and from the Ministry, after he did that.

Floyd is a great teacher. When he pastored for 14 years at Woodlawn and 20 years in Hattiesburg, MS, he travel 70% of the time preaching off..he was in quite demand. Now he is retired living in Gulf Shores. He ran for MS Dist Supt a few years ago and removed his name after James Carney was ahead.

Since that prohibition was added in 1977, wouldn't it represent a departure from what the UPCI stood for for years? And now the repeal of the ban is the UPCI "getting back to its roots" and evangelizing by every means possible?

My understanding is that there will be NO "General Superintendent." The executive committee of seven men, as I understand it, will govern the fellowship. Furthermore, I know for a fact that NO ONE will hold a "full-time" office.
If the Odom family is moving to Tulsa, it's NOT to become a "full-time" General Superintendent. Unless, of course, EVERYTHING I've been told so far is totally wrong.

Floyd pastored Woodlawn from 1974 - 1987. He built the original sanctuary that seemed big at the time. When he left in 87, there was some controversy over tithes and such. They were averaging about 175 when he left and under Carney's regime, they have the mega church they have today including the 12 million dollar building and family life center. Of course Carney was not a minister until we was elected pastor of the church.

James has bigger visions than being a politician in the MS Dist. He makes literal millions every year as pastor just off of his brother in law's tithes. Not to mention the 2-3 other millionaires in his church. He loses money being the Supt. Jean his wife told my mother, the travel is too hard on them. It cuts into their annual trips to Europe.

Brother Carney was the church secretary and taught the Sunday School lesson every week. He really didn't start preaching until after Floyd Odom left and he was elected pastor not long after. It's kind of like a family run business at Woodlawn. Wallace-Carney Enterprises, LLC.
In fact, we call the massive structure on Hw. 98, Tommy's Temple! (Tommy Wallace, his multi-millionaire brother-in-law)

Bro. Odom is a good man at heart. Just somewhat misguided and controlled by insecurity. He feels unappreciated. His family has been through a lot and logically those struggles should have purpose.
Internally, he is very angry. This is reflected in his ministry. He wasn't always this way. The struggles in life have worn him down.
A very gifted speaker and orator, he commanded the presence of the audience. What happened at Woodlawn was a struggle between his leadership and those who held the purse strings. TV was also a big issue. He refused to allow television and they turned against him.

This is because they were never taught "forgiveness". The church culture has promoted and enabled bitterness, strife and jealousy by not teaching the fundamentals of Christianity. All they taught was Jesus name baptism and why everybody else was lost.

Well BIL's company just got a $10 million + bonus for finishing the Ocean Springs bridge.....do the math....as far as the trips abroad, they do take place. Jean and my mother have been good friends for 30 years so she would know. I don't begrudge this I actually have great respect for the man. My point is, why would you want to be Dist Supt over a bunch of ole ultra cons who don't want to move forward when you can pastor Woodlawn, have revival, and enjoy the benefits. And yes his BIL brings in the bucks and pays more than 10%, you can bet on that.

No matter what people say or think of Rev. Odom...
He is a man of God and you should be careful about slandering
somebody who has the calling of God on them.
If you have issue's with him. Maybe you should talk face to face and not behind the computer screen.
I may not agree with all his teaching ,but my convictions are different.
BUT I do respect his and I believe no matter what happened at Woodlawn or the reason why he left Hattisburg. That's between him and God.
Does it matter where he lives? Why do we care if he ran for office?!?!
We should be out spreading the word of God and not trying to know to stick our nose in other's personal life. Sounds like a upset relative at him to me???

Bro. and Sister Odom are wonderful people. I have known them since I was in my teens and have never known of any wrong doing on either of their parts. He pastored my grandparents as well as my mother, brother and family. They are awesome christian people who stand firm on the word of God as they have as long as I have known them. If people are upset because Bro. Odom refuses to become liberal and deny all or any portion of what he has preached, lived, and believed all of these years, then the problem is with them and not him or his precious wife. Bro. and Sis. Odom stand firm on truth, if anyone has a problem with them it is time for prayer and fasting on their part, not the part of Bro. and Sis. Odom!

Mr. STAYDULL, ARe you Odoms Pyschiatrist. You portray him as some old bitter man who doesn't smile. Maybe there are two Floyd Odom's form Hatt. MS. The one I know that is now with the WPF would probably fire you for sharing your Psyc. notes with AFF audience. The life tragedy equals bitter spirit stuff is dumb. He's a great dad, friend, leader, and one of the best preachers you will ever hear. Staydull get a life and stop trying trying to pschoanalyze someone just because they made one decision you didn't agree with or understand.
