Romans 11:33-34 (NKJV)
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 "For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counselor?"
Why, why, why? Why do we press harder on a remote control when we know the batteries are going dead? Why do Kamikaze pilots wear helmets? Why do banks charge a fee on "insufficient funds" when they know there’s not enough money? Why do we assume someone has stolen something from us when it’s likely we have simply lost it ourselves?
There are a lot of questions in life. Almost as soon as we can talk we begin to question why things are the way they are. A child asking the unending question of “why” can almost drive a parent to insanity. As a parent I have found myself answering the volumes of whys from my kids with the ultimate answer: “Because that’s the way God made it!” Every time that answer stops the eternal quiz.
In reality, that is the ultimate answer: God. There is so much about the universe, about the world, about humanity and life that we will never be able to answer. Why did I have to grow up with abuse? Why did my loved one have to die? Why do some people get healed while others don’t? Why is life unfair? Why do some people have to live with pain and tragedy while others don’t? The “whys” in life can be unending. The lack of answers can almost drive one crazy.
He never promised to let us know everything; He never vowed to give us all of the answers. He did promise us that He would help us throughout life, that He would never leave our side. His wisdom is far above our wisdom and His ways are higher than our ways (Is. 55:9). He wants us to trust Him.
You don’t need to always know the answer to “why”. You just need to know Jesus knows and that He’s the answer!

I have found myself asking "Why?" more in the past few weeks than I ever asked when I was a kid. I have prayed, asking God "Why". And, for the most part, He has been silent. I've come to this forum more times than I can count, hoping and praying, that some Spirit-filled Christian would recieve a Word from the Lord that will answer my question. But, no answers have been found...
However....
this morning I came on to see the latest developments on the latest discussion on PCI/PAJC, or baptism or one of the many endless issues we debate and re-debate. Then I found your post. While it doesn't actually give me my answers, it does help me to know why it seems God had been silent. Its because He has already answered my questions. You post was just what I needed to make it thru the rest of the day. And, Brother, your post IS what I needed today. Thank you. "Because He lives...I can face tomorrow..." Great post. You just have no idea how great it really is.
You just left one thing out:
Hey, OneAccord...this is the Word of the Lord for you today!

Man, you don't know how encouraging your words are to me!
I wrote this piece as a devotion in a daily devotional I wrote back in September for our church. When I got on to AFF today I just felt like posting something inspirational. I then thought of the devotional and perused through the devotional on my computer and decided to post this one. Obviously with your feedback we see that the Unseen Hand was at work motivating me to post this devotion out of the 30 I had to choose from and moving you to log on in time to see the thread. God is so good!

I'm glad you found my words encouraging. Yours helped me face some situations yesterday that, without them, would have been next to impossible to face. I don't know if you know our situation, and I won't bore you with details, but, yesterday it became necessary for my wife to go into a wheelchair. Everyday it seems she is slipping closer to... well, whatever God has for her.
I printed your post out, and, last night, I shared it with my wife before we had prayer. We both wept with gratitude to the Lord for what we feel is a much needed Word from the Lord. She and I have both felt so lost the last few days, but your words helped us to know that God is very aware of our situation. And that He will move in His time, and in His way. I now have your words posted on the bulletin board in the living room where we place all the cards and notes we've recieved (some from members of this forum).
I really believe your posting that particular post at that particular time was God's doing. Thank you...and GBY.

Great post Deacon. The reason Pilots wear the helmets are in case they have to eject and parachute out of the plane. If they fell into rocks or trees they would need to protect the head.:christmoose
