Can't this one-step, three-step controversy be resolved by making a distinction between New Birth and Salvation?

New Birth takes 3 steps!

Salvation is totally dependent on God's judgement!

Rom 9:15,16, "I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that showeth mercy."

God can save according to the "light doctrine", but we should still teach and preach a 3-step New Birth. jmho

Dan, what is your purpose in promoting one-step doctrine?

Do you think three-steppers should convert to one-step and/or embrace charismatics in fellowship?

Of course he does. Go and read some of his posts. He promotes the one-step doctrine because he believes it. Find some threads on the PCI and read them then you will know what many on this site believe and teach. Dan is just the most outspoken.

I am for rightly dividing the Word as the apostles taught and preached it. The apostles did not preach the 3 step view as presented by most, if not all, with what we here call the PAJC view.

I am for fellowshipping the body of Christ ... and not closed fellowship based on the traditions of men and hatred for bethren.

Because you're not "melding" them together at all as you suppose. Three steps is three steps no matter how you slice it. The problem is the paradigm. :D

3 steps of new birth is not the same as 3 steps to salvation. God can save at any step after repentance. One is not born again until after all 3 steps.
