Matthew 25:23 (NKJV)
23 His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'

We like titles. Titles identify who we are, our accomplishments, they recognize our level of authority. To have the title “Doctor” is certainly a label that we as a society honor and revere. It represents an elite class of citizen who has dedicated much time and money to gain the education and position to be called such. Doctors are the tops in their field.

We take pride in other titles such as “CEO” or “President”. “Regional Manager”, “Director”, “Pastor”, “Supervisor”, “Superintendent”, “Professor”, “Chief of Staff”, are all titles that command respect, that speak volumes to those who see those titles next to our names and help to create in us a sense of worth and value.

But in the end, when all has been said and done, we will all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. We will stand as individuals and we will all give an account for how we spent our lives. At that point the only title that will count from the lips of the Judge of our souls will be “Servant”.

No matter your title, no matter what you do for a living, no matter what label defines your career, make sure in all that you do you are serving the Lord Jesus Christ, serving your fellow man and living in such a way that when He sums up your lifespan He will say, “Good and Faithful Servant”.
