See here is the deal, that was the Sunday sermon by the youngster evangelist. He held up his watch, told us the time and said, THE RAPTURE IS GOING TO TAKE PLACE IN 5 MINUTES, WHAT WOULD YOU DO? EVERYONE SHOULD BE AT THIS ALTAR!!!
The intent was to have everyone come to the altar to weep and cry and repent and stuff. The interesting thing was that the majority of people up there were church people.
My immediate thought was I would be running the backs of the pews shouting GLORY at the top of my lungs!
I guess I am so tired of this attitude in the church of "I wanna be saved" "I hope I am saved" "I want to make sure things are right!"
Ok, we humans? When do we get up from off our knees? When is it enough?
When do we ever have salvation as something tangible and not abstract.
David said he had joy in his salvation.
Apostolic people haven't worked hard enough for it apparently.

Thanks for this. I really, really needed that right now. :)
I am 100% certain of my salvation. I could never have done what's been done, I didn't even want to when I started this journey back to God. Every single step has been a miracle. Even though I'm still fighting some things and still wrestling with God, I am confident that He has saved me, I will be with Him, and if I decided to change that, it'd be a pretty blatent choice that only I could make. We're still working on the joy there, but I guess that gives me a goal. :p
As for being ready for the rapture? I just had a thought that made me laugh. Cuz..I'm irreverant like that sometimes. God would seriously not have done what He's done to get me where I am, to leave me sit here if the rapture were to happen now. I guess that's confidence.

It is still alive and well now… it hasn’t been that long ago since I heard a message at our Holiday Youth Convention that was trying to shake the kids up… get them in the altar to repent.… well, we are all in need of repentance daily… doesn’t mean we are lost.
My oldest was troubled after the HYC service and asked me why they try to scare people to serve God. I understood her concern… I’ve seen it far too many times. I don’t like those that try to hang people over hell…. I think much more is accomplished by showing the love of God to people. We love and serve him because he loved and died for us.
2 Cor 5:14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.
I comforted her with the words that we will rejoice at his coming… we are so looking forward to it… her salvation is secure as long as she loves the Lord and strives to keep walking in faith and the joy of the Holy Ghost.
It should be “look up… your redemption draweth nigh” as it was posted earlier.

But, Forever, how is the preacher supposed to validate his ministry if he can't testify of the numbers who were in the altar repenting? After all, don't preachers preach for the response? :D

You know, to be honest.... I get caught up in just going from day to day. Living life, not thinking about His return. That is a fault, but one I am admitting! But you've got me thinking.........Whether Christ's return is pre, mid or post trib.......... I've gotta live everyday like it were my last. I don't know when my time here is finished! I will tell you this....if I spent as much time praying and seeking God for direction each day, as I do on this computer, I would be doing pretty good! LOL

I wrote a poem at 15 or 16 (32 or 33 years ago) that said:
To you I would say
Live each day as though your last
For ere you know it
It's long since past
For events of years
and months and days ago
Are described
So and then So
And events of years
And months and days to be
Are summed up
what could be
But today is here
It's in your hands
Its your decision
how each day stands
So live each day
As though your last
For ere you know it
It's long since past!
I think I would do well to heed the words of that simple poem from so long ago.
