I was sitting in a Resturant a couple of nights ago and was talking with a PAW Evangelist and he was talking about the Ministry and money...

He said the "Prosperity Doctrine" is the big thing right now...

telling people that they will recieve riches...God will "Bless" them...

He said..here is what is going on....

People are Giving to Feel Good... but they don't want to Live Good!!!!

but because they give they can come, give and walk away.... "feeling" like their changed...BUT NOTHING about them really Changes!!!!

Ministers and Pastors are teaching and preaching it. Because it brings a big payout and outcome for the them.

People want to hear all I have to do is sow a seed and things will be ok?

I hear it said often, you will not get the return that you get from giving to the church.

I do not see it as all being honest.....

It's time to obey the word to be saved.

Acts2:44: And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
45: And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need

I would give to those who need myself.

Acts4:32: And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.33: And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.34: Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,35: And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.

1 Tim.5: Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.6: But godliness with contentment is great gain.7: For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.8: And having food and raiment let us be therewith content

Math.6:19: Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:20: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

1 Tim.6:17] Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;[18] That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate;[19] Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth. 3 John 2

Jesus was indeed a wealthy prosperous person.

His family home was a multi-roomed mansion ref John 14:1

He didn't wear cheap suits. His garments were not off the rack like a common person but He had a tailor made seamless robe. It was so valuable that all the soldiers who executed Him wanted it.

When He rode into Jerusalem, He didn't choose some used vehicle. Instead He rode in on an unbroken animal. Nothing but a new vehicle for Him, none of this old stuff previously ridden by someone else.

By the example of Jesus we see that if we are His followers we should have fine, large homes, wear tailor made clothes, and drive new vehicles.

I know people who preach this not because it's truth, but because of what it does to their income. I do NOT preach this doctrine, at least not the way the "prosperity" guys do. Prosperity is so much further BEYOND money. "Money won't buy me love." :D

This is a wonderful scripture. Aren't you glad John didn't ask for a seed offering? :christmoose
