View Full Version : Emmanuel: God With Us

Imagine---God wants to be with us---imagine that
I can't understand why---you would think He would want to spend time with someone more intelligent, more noble, stronger, less limited, less vulnerable
Yet He wants to be with you---He wants to be with me
He doesn't treat us like we treat one another. We oftentimes get weary of each other---need some time away from one another. Sometimes we get worn out with certain people and we distance ourselves, we stop calling, we stop answering the phone, we avoid them, we need some time off to recharge our batteries so we can tolerate being around them.
He isn't like that. He never gets weary of me. He doesn't grow tired of you or me or anybody else. Disappointed? Yes. Grieved? Absolutely. Sorrowful? Sure. But never, ever to the place where He doesn't want to be with us. He never leaves us, never forsakes us. He is Emmanuel
You may feel like you are a million miles away from God. And that feeling may be very real. And you may feel very forsaken. But its not true. Its a feeling rooted in a flase perception. Because He has never left you. You may have left Him. But He will never leave you. He is God with us. He is Emmanuel.
His name shall be called Jesus---He shall save His people from their sins.
There is no greater name of God than the name of Jesus---there is no greater attribute of God than the fact that He is my salvation
But a name of the Messiah that is a close second to His name Jesus is the name Emmanuel. He is my Savior first---that is most important. But He wanted us to know that a very close second is that He is Emmanuel---God with us.
Imagine---HE wants to be with US---imagine that.

This is so awesome!! This never ceases to amaze me!
I don't remember who it was, but I remember hearing a story about some "theologian" who was being interviewed and was asked what the greatest truth he understood was. He sung his answer very simply, "Jesus loves me, this I know........."

Great, Bro. DeaconBlues,
Jesus told His disciples, I AM with you, but I shall be IN you!
He walked with them and talked with them. Then the Cross, and
He was seen of them again. He taught then for many days and
explained that He must go away so the Comforter, (Holy Ghost)
the Spirit of Truth could come, and would abide with them forever.
(John 14:16)
My late father used to tell that when he was a child, he would
read the little scripture cards and see the picture of Jesus with
the little children. He said as a child, he almost felt cheated that
he couldn't have lived back then so he could have heard Him say
"Let the little children come unto me". But as a mature Christian
adult, he realized that we have it SO much better to be able to
have Him IN us, than to have literally walked WITH Him on earth.
Paul said when he was a child, he thought like a child, etc., but
when he became a man (mature adult), he put away childish things.
Are we better off today with HIM IN us than if HE was literally here
WITH us. If He comes back in the flesh, will the Comforter, the HOLY
GHOST go away! He said if He didn't go away, the Comforter (Holy
Ghost) would not come. Are we confined as long as we are in this
body! Did the body of Jesus (robe of flesh) confine Him! Is God limited
as far as where and what He can do, when contained in the flesh.
Jesus told them He was going to the Father and they would see Him
no more. (John 16:10)
Jesus was seen WITH his disciples. After His ascension and then
Pentecost, He wasn't seen anymore WITH them. Why? The reason
they didn't SEE Him anymore was because He was INSIDE them. Inside
robes of flesh. We do not SEE Him today because He is INSIDE us, if
so be that the Spirit of Christ dwells within you! He will not dwell in an
unclean temple. He is HOLY!
Just some thoughts from a senior sister.
Blessings,
