Adley Denson Hodges was born yesterday morning Dec.19 in a Georgia Hospital.
Sandra was not there for the birth but just a few hours later.
The mother was to leave the hospital at noon today and the baby stay until friday(tomorrow) I have not heard any details.
I know that Sandras husband, Walker and the rest of the family got in from Louisiana at 3 a.m. this morning.
At 7:30 a.m. they were all headed to hospital to meet their new family member.
Here in Nashville we are anxious to meet him as well.
I wanted to give ya'll a little info that I have on the baby.
Sandra and baby is doing well! lol
he weighted 6lbs.11oz. she said he is really tiny compared to Walker.

a wonderful christmas present for sandra! Merry Christmas!!!
I am sure you will hear from Sandra soon

Eucalyptus oil *nearby* but don't let it touch him. I'd always drip it onto a washcloth then set that in the windowsill, or on the bed beside the baby (but..my babies slept in bed with me).

Humidity. If he gets to where he can't breathe, head into the bathroom and run the shower as hot as possible. The steam usually helps.

You can also put a pot of water on to boil and put a few drops of eucalyptus oil in that, you won't want to use the pot for cooking again though. It'll make the whole house smell yummy.

I really love eucalyptus oil. I'm 100% sure it's kept us out of the ER more than once. I use it even now for the kids, and myself, when we get all stuffy and can't breathe.

I think I remember seeing a menthol ish baby bath or lotion? I'd check with someone who knows more than I do before using it on such a tiny baby, but that might be beneficial too. Even if you just put it in some water so the vapors are hanging around.

More proof I'm just meant to mommy lots of little babies? lol

I'd be right around pregnant by now again if I was still married (right around pregnant = almost pregnant, pregnant, or just gave birth) *sigh* It seems strange to not be planning another baby.

Is the snot white? If so, it's likely not a cold, but just him clearing out his lungs. My newborn (now almost 3 months) has been sneezing since he popped out. I think it's partially allergens now, but the doc said it was just him clearing his airways... My two year old was the same when he was new too.

It might be a cold though.. there's always the possibility.. It sometimes helps to sleep them upright, in their car seat or propping up their mattress, helps them breath easier.

I was sorry to read that it wasn't just a cold. I trust he's doing well now! Praying. Children are so precious, it makes your heart hurt when they are sick.

Sandra, the boys are just SOOOOOOO cute!!! Also, the pictures from Uganda make me want to be there so bad. We'll be in Kenya in a little over two months; can't wait! I wish I could just hop over and see your orphanage, but our time there is always totally planned before we get there.

So glad to see that everything went well and the baby is beautiful, as is
Walker. These children have no idea how priviledged they are to be placed
in the arms of this loving couple. I have never met V or her husband but I
feel the true spirit of mother and father in this couple. The orphanage in
Uganda also confirms that spirit. When this world is so full of homeless and
aborted infants, to take the responsibility of parenting those not born of
your own blood, is SO commendable. I salute you both, in Jesus Name!!
