My daughter will be home on Sunday and we will have our family Christmas on Monday night - big dinner and all!
Then Christmas Day we will go to Jonesboro to have Christmas with my family!
I spent more than I should have.
I bought neat stuff, on sale stuff, a tool chest for my son and girly stuff for my daughter. First year to buy for a DIL, but I think I did good.
I'm not sure if I'll be at church or not - according to what time my daughter arrives.

Where are you going ?
Nowhere.
what are you doing ?
Nothing.
how much are you spending?
I'll probably spend the rest of a $25 gift card. I think there's $19 left on it?
what are you buying ??
Toilet paper and soap! lol I hope the kids like soap in their stockings...
are you attending church this sunday ?
Of course. What else would I do?
One quick disclaimer, my kids are leaving this afternoon for 2 weeks. I'll be all alone me, myself, and I, so I'm seriously going to ENJOY doing nothing that I don't want to do (or have to do) for a change. (I hope)

We want to know what you are doing!!!!
Ummm ummm umm...
Lets see I cant even begin to think of some of the stuff... got my girls a bunch of little things they were wanting and then got my older ones new ps2's that they have been begging for.. then one of them got stolen yesterday off of our front porch so my dad has been going all over town trying to replace it since UPS finally said they would since it was supposed to be signed for but there is a huge order of things you have to do to get reimbursed so he got it for now and we will take care of the rest later...
I got the hubby some more drums to add to his collection... actually got them in OKC but have had them hidden...
Got new IPods for 2 of the kids
We arent doing anything really on Christmas eve or morning.. they will open one gift each that morning then go to their grandpa's and open their big gifts he got them! Then Christmas night when Hubby gets home from work we will have our family Christmas... after all the uproar over getting their gifts this year he said we had better wait LOL.... Actually we ended up getting real good deals and didnt spend near as much as we normally do... And I had it all done weeks ago until Hubby decided to add to the things we were getting thats when everything seemed to go into insane mode LOL
Then they will open gifts that night and have our annual big enchilada dinner that night then on Sat we will have our family dinner as my dad has to work on Christmas too...
Yes we will be attending church this Sunday.. why shouldnt we?

I'm going to my grandma's the first weekend of January though.
I haven't spent much yet, but I'm shopping tomorrow. As for an exact figure, unless you are paying the bill, I'll just keep that to myself....LOL!
I have bought several things. I bought my daughter a Nintendo DS and my son a .22 rifle. The rest are just little gifts.

Ya know...it's like the one lady whose husband wasn't in church. He played the lottery and won big time. She told him, "I don't like what you did, and the only way I am going to let you keep that money is if you tithe on it."
Couple of weeks later, he gave in and wrote the check. She took it to her pastor who refused it. He said, "That is sin money, and I can't take it." She was furious as they needed a new building and she felt this was how the Lord moved to make provision. Strange, but God does work in strange ways sometimes.
She went across town to a different pastor and told him she wanted to transfer, and give the money. His reply echoes through history:
Give that money to the Lord, the devil has had it long enough!!!!! :D

Our Christmas starts Christmas Eve - we all meet at my grandma's at noon for a big Brunch and then everyone opens presents from her and we just hang out for awhile, playing games, watching football :( or Christmas movies. We used to go somewhere else that evening but this year we aren't so we will probably stay at my granny's longer then go home and relax. Then Christmas morning we get up and do our own thing at our house and then meet at my mom's at noon for more gift exchanging and a big dinner! Then that evening we go to my MIL's for a gift exchange again and by then everyone is too full to even discuss dinner!!!
We decided this year to buy for kids only because there were many of us who were tight financially this year due to job changes and just simply the economy. So we mainly bought for our daughters - and spent waaaayyy too much! We got Jaz a Hannah Montanna guitar, some princess barbies, DVD's, CD's, clothes, shoes, laptop learning toy, a board game and a few other item I don't want to list everything plus her stocking is FULL! We got Ariel a few baby toys & some clothes and her stocking is FULL!!!
We bought my neice & nephew MP3 players, my littlest neice a few toys.
And then the two older neices are getting giftcards!!!!
And no, we are not attending church but we will be remembering the reason for the season as a family both days - that is what is great about having a Christian family on every side!

I asked oh how is that? She said well you dont have to work to take us to school or nothing! LOL... I thought hmmm is that all she thinks I do? Then she came back and made the sweetest comment... she said well Thats all you have to do because we will take care of everything else.. we will clean and cook for you!!!!!!!! AWWWW

what are you doing ?
Welll...Sunday we are having smoked ribs and all the fixin's, my sister is cooking on Christmas Eve so I won't have to, and I'll put a copy of our Christmas Dinner menu at the bottom of this post. We plan on going to the Tulsa Zoo one day...on Polar Bear Days you get in for half price. On Christmas morning we open gifts, have a big pancake breakfast, and then lounge around and play games all day until time for dinner.
This Christmas vacation will have several work days scheduled in, as our yard is still full of tree limbs and branches from the ice storm.
how much are you spending?
My Christmas budget is set at $1500.00 (+ some extra grocery money for the week of Christmas) I've done pretty good so far, I haven't gone over, and I haven't bought anything on credit. I love the fact that when January rolls around, we have no Christmas Debts.
what are you buying ??
3 gifts per kid, plus stocking stuffers. 1 small gift each for the adults in attendance. A bigger gift for Jeff and my Mother. Gifts that I mailed for all my nieces and nephews. 1 gift each for the kids in my Sunday School class. I spent about $100 on decorations, and I did use part of the budget to buy a 9 ft. pre-lit tree. (I'm tired of cleaning up after real trees.) All that, and I still have a LITTLE bit of money left!!!! All I have to say is: TUESDAY MORNING ROCKS!!!!! :D
The kids also have to take about a month's worth of allowance and buy a small gift for every person that will be here on Christmas day. They have the opportunity to earn extra for Christmas by doing certain jobs around the house.
We don't do electronics for Christmas gifts. Jeff buys games, mp3 players, etc., as he gets the money in his paypal account, so it wouldn't make sense to spend the kids' Christmas money on that.
are you attending church this sunday ?
Yes. I don't know what the music is going to be yet. *sigh* Everyone's GONE!

what are you buying ??
Already bought and received my GPS and my husband's golf GPS, and two new leather recliners. Need to find one gift to go under the tree that he doesn't know about.

I don't post much but this was such a fun thread to read that I had to contribute.
Where are you going ?
All of our family is close by. We will go to my in-laws' house on Christmas Eve and my parents' house on Christmas afternoon. Christmas morning is just DH and me at home sleeping in, eating breakfast, and probably watching the Muppet Christmas Carol.
what are you doing ?
Christmas Eve at my in-laws' house is sort of like a super bowl party. Since everyone is usually tired of holiday food we just graze all day, hang out, and watch a movie or something then watch the grandaughters open their gifts. We have wings and egg rolls, cheese dip, sausage balls, and lots of sweets. Christmas dinner with my parents is much more traditional: ham and fixins eaten off china in the formal dining room, reading the Christmas story, and then watching the grandkids open their presents.
how much are you spending?
2 years ago both our families decided that all the adults would stop buying for each other and help a cause instead. My family pools our money and gives it to anonymously to a family in need in our church. In my in-laws' family it's understood that everyone helps someone on their own...angel tree or someone in need at work, etc. So, we only had to buy 4 gifts: 1 gift each for our three nieces and 1 nephew. That's going to be under $100 total.
what are you buying ??
I'm getting gift cards for my husband's nieces: iTunes and Target (they're tweens who have everything). I'm getting playclothes for my niece and nephew because they are getting tons of toys from everyone else.
are you attending church this sunday ?
Definitely Sunday AM because I'm on to praise sing and we're having our class parties, but I don't know about Sunday PM...probably.

MrsB is upset with Wells Fargo Bank.
Seems the Bonuses were $1000, except employees were told they could not spend them on themselves. They had to spend them on someone else.
Why call it a bonus then?

My wife and I are entertaining our two sons and all the "grands" here in the lovely State of Louisiana...for the next few days or so...
It's a wonderful season to give thanks and appreciation for all the wonderful blessings the Lord has given to each of us...
And it's always wonderful to do that together with family...
After the holidays, I'm on my way to the ALLURE General Conference in Las Vegas, NV... how about you????

I am actually not going to be even a WF customer as soon as I can get some direct withdrawals changed to be direct billed.
How do they propose to enforce that one?
I have no idea. I would think our church folks are "needy" and "needing help" if I had such a restriction. ya gotta love these liberals.

I have bought several things. I bought my daughter a Nintendo DS and my son a .22 rifle. The rest are just little gifts.

where is all this taking place ???
I work at a nursing home.
My grandma lives in Illinois in a suburb of Chicago.
I've been shopping at a mall in Green Bay, Wal-Mart in my town, Fleet Farm in a town near here, and tonight I'm going to Appleton for more shopping.
The church I attend is called 'Hope Community Church' and it's in the same town I live in.
Hope this helps!!

Well Thad, first off, my family and I will be attending church Sunday morning at our new church in North Little Rock, then we will drive back here to our home in Louisiana to have Christmas with our families. My son, who is leaving for Iraq in March will be here with his family, and of course, my only grandchild, and my mother and my 82 year old grandmother will help me cook. My husband's mother will also join us. Then more packing for we are moving the following week to NLR. And as far as spending, well, my husband bought me a new car for Christmas, so of course, I had to splurge on everybody else.
So, Merry Christmas Thad !!!!!! :merrychristmas2

1. Well, I guess I won't be going shopping since everything will be closed! Bummer! Then I will cook a very nice breakfast for my family. We will probably sit around and watch our new fish! Yippee! Have a snowball fight. Work out. The usual everyday things.
2. I am spending lots, but not on christmas presents. I wonder if I've been wrong to use these santa smilies in my post? Oh Father, please forgive me! :jolly
3. I bought lots of stuff for my fish tank! lol. And I bought a campfire mocha, moosed! (Caribou Coffee)
4. Why would I not attend church this Sunday? Unless we really get a whole lot of snow.... I doubt snow will keep us in! Maybe we'll go snow tubing! That'll be way cool!
I know it's not very exciting! No, wait a minute, it is exciting! Very few days are boring in my house! LOL
