View Full Version : Pastor D Preaches, Partakes, and Pays: Another AFF Encounter!!!
Having planned to spend this evening washing at the laundromat ... w/ my little ones ... I never thought I'd sit in church and at Pappasito's w/ a member of our forum family tonight ... but that's exactly what transpired.
Pastor D invited me to go hear him preach at a UPCI church here in H-town. The church is literally within walking distance from my apartment complex.
Tell you what ... he flat out preached/treached tonite. The crowd was small due to the holidays but he preached as if the house was full.
His inspiring message was one of encouragement and hope in expectation of the new year. His text came from the book of Numbers when Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it.
He spoke articulately and with conviction on living victoriously. He has a classic booming Pentecost preaching voice ... fluidly and skillfully laying out the Word w/ the obligatory "hahs".
The guy's got a very good tenor singing voice, too.
After church, he, the host pastor, Danah, Aaron and I grabbed some grub at Pappasitos. We partook of the nachos and Mexican entrees.
We had a great time talking about the forum, among other things.
He and the host pastor were amiable, warm, transparent and easy going.
I really enjoyed myself ... D is, simply, cool people. A friend of mine here had told me D was gold .... and tonight I realized he was on point.
I want to thank Pastor D, again, for paying for our dinner tonite, also. I was busy talking to the host pastor while we were getting ready to leave ..... and hadn't realized D took my receipt and payed for our meal. Thanks, bro.
Hoping we can hang in the near future so I can reciprocate.

AFF must know that Daniel has two of the most beautiful children I have ever seen and they obviously love their dad. He seems to be a great father!

No pics this time, Trouvere.
The anointing on Pastor D was so strong that a bright light shone ... making the pictures indecipherable.

lol.
This reminds me of several years ago when I was a teenager. We had a visiting preacher say "Glory to God" after every phrase.
e.g. It's great to be with you folks tonight, Glory to God!
The presence of the Lord is in this place, Glory to God!
Anyways.....my cousin and I counted how many times he said the phrase, "Glory to God"! It was somewhere in the high 70's before he was done preaching! :toofunny
