1. If you live somewhere it very, very rarely gets cold. Remember, that means it does still get cold sometimes.
2. If you live somewhere it does get cold sometimes, it's not a good idea to let your gas tank get towards empty.
3. Especially so far towards empty the vehicle won't start again.
4. Especially on the night when it gets COLD for a change.
5. When you point out to the friend looking at it that the lines may be frozen and he goes to check, make sure to remind him that frozen fuel lines are brittle.
6. Don't laugh too hard when the line snaps off in his hands.
7. This is, however, a cheap way to get new fuel lines. Oh, they should be all thawed out too.

At least I'm laughing now! I know exactly what the problem is. My van is missing a fuel line. lol Hopefully that was the whole problem or I might cry again. *sigh*
I've never, ever run out of gas before. I make it a point to never get low on gas in the winter. Until, you know, last night.

For some reason I don't think you have the same problem I do. :rudolph
I really wish I could send the money you need to fix that Sister. Someday, I hope to have money to go around.

Ok now I'm not quite so amused. It didn't get warm enough today to thaw the lines. This means I'm stuck here for another day. I really don't want to be stuck here...I'm lonely. I haven't talked to my baby in almost 48 hours, maybe he'll call tonight, but maybe I'll go almost crazy waiting for him to call.
I just wanna go out and do something, anything.

That's almost what I feel like doing! I miss my bigger kids, but my baby's never been away from me overnight before.
Gah. I had plans last night, and this morning, and maybe tomorrow morning..and had to cancel all of them. To stay home. Alone. There is church tomorrow night, I'll find a ride from someone if I need to.
It's gonna get real ugly if I run out of toilet paper!

Not a hope in the world. I live in an apartment and the nearest person I know who has a garage is 7 miles away across town and all that.
I'm trying to decide between space heater and blankets to keep the heat under the van, or a hair dryer. Either way it'll be at least tomorrow. It decided to snow here tonight.
I *am* glad my kids are gone and my next day of classes/work isn't until the end of Jan. I'm trying to be optimistic. :depressed
And really, how did you know what my van looks like? :tease

I would be VERY careful with a blow dryer. Gasoline ignites very easily and also you can heat up the material behind the line and it will ignite.
If you can get it to a garage that would be best.
Sometimes a dealer or garage will have deals with the local towing company to offer reduced rates to tow a vehicle.

I might still have AAA too. I can't remember what date last year I got that. heh IIRC I was here by now though so it'd be over a year ago. (I drove from Iowa to Idaho alone with 4 kids in Dec...yeah, I got AAA before we left)
Bleh. I just want it as warm as it usually is. Then it'd thaw out during the day and I could go on about my merry way.
I do have 7 gallons of gas and a bottle of heet in the tank now, soon as we can get the lines moving again. And I desperately hope that's all that's wrong.
Oh and thanks for the caution. I was going to pass all suggestions by someone here who I trust too. I don't necessarily trust the person who made the suggestions.
I should call my pastor and see if he's got any ideas. I hate bothering his family just before Christmas though when it's not that big of a deal. Of course, I will have to get ahold of him tomorrow for a ride to church.

Dear Little Sis. Nahkoe,
I've been in similar circumstances where I almost felt "trapped"
when I was much younger. If I had only known then what I know
now, or if someone had just told me. But what an awesome time to
"snuggle" up with Jesus and spend some quiet, quality time with Him.
Many times we are so rushed and our lives so full we don't have the
time or take the time to just spend time alone with Him. Maybe He
gave you this opportunity to relax and just tell Him your heart!
I love the songs about being in the valley for that is where He restores
our soul. A valley is a low place between two high places. You come
off a mountain into a valley and then up another mountain. Just trust
Him as He knows you are there and He wants you to know He is there
also. Waiting patiently to be recognized, for you to acknowledge Him.
I know from the other forum before you came over here, you went
through some rough places. Sick babies, etc. But God brought you out
every time, didn't He!!
Build yourself up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
(in tongues). The longer you do this, the easier it gets and the Spirit will
take over and will pray through you, according to God's will. I promise
you if you will do this, you will know you are no longer alone!
Blessings, Little Sis. Nahkoe and God bless you.
