News Video: CBS 2 Investigation Continues Into Alledged Shutter Scam
By Dan Ball
CBS 2 News
Several people in the Valley contacted CBS 2 in September about "Rebekah's Window Solutions", reportedly scamming them out of thousands of dollars. At that time, CBS 2 contacted the owner of the company, Isaac Guiterrez, he told us that he planned on paying back every person who didn't receive their shutters, but that never happened.
Several home owners in Indio showed CBS 2 receipts for checks and invoices for work that was never completed by Rebekah's Window Solutions. After repeated failed attempts to contact Isaac Gutirrez, he contacted CBS 2 by email and phone. He claimed that he had experienced a hardship and that he fully intended on repaying every client. In fact, Gutierrez told several clients and CBS 2 that he would repay the debt with in 30 days, but when 30 days had passed he asked his clients for another month.
Now nearly 3 months later, no debts have been repayed and Gutierrez is no where to be found. The email address he gave CBS 2 has been cancelled, along with several phone numbers he told clients to use to contact him.
His neighbors on San Bernadino Street in Redlands say they have seen him coming and going just in the past few days, but once again CBS 2 was not able to track him down. Though in a parked car in Gutierrez's driveway, there was a letter from the Home Depot addressed to Rebekah's Window Solutions, care of Isaac Gutierrez.
Now since our first broadcast more than a half a dozen people have come forward, claiming that they were scammed by Isaac Gutierrez and Rebekah's Window Solutions. In all, over $20,000 dollars has not been returned.
If you believe you have been scammed by someone, we want to hear from you. Send us an email at info@cbstv2.com. Also call local authorities and make a police report.
Tips from the Better Business Bureau:
Obtain bids from several different companies. Be sure you are comparing the
same type and quality of the product.
Check the Reliability of the company with the Better Business Bureau at LaBBB.org or by
calling (909) 825-7280.
Obtain recent references and ask to see a portfolio. If the company has a
retail location you may want to visit it.
If the company is providing installation services, they may be required or
their installer may be required to be a licensed contractor. Verify
licensing with the California Contractor's State License Board at
CSLB.ca.gov or by calling 1-800-321-CSLB (2752).
Be sure to sign a contract which includes the name, street address (not just
a P.O. Box), and telephone number of the provider. The contract should
include a written description of the materials purchased, labor to be
charged, and payment and delivery terms.
If you purchased brand name materials, you should expect that they will be
identified as such upon delivery.
In general, if you signed this type of contract other than at the company's
principal place of business, such as your home, you have a three day
cancellation right.

I thought the same thing at first, and noticed that the article mentions a Louis Gutierrez, which is Isaac's father-
I really hope its really just a miss understanding and lack of better business skills-
Bro Louie (as I remember him being called) gave me bible studys as a teenager so this is really sad to me :(

They are a Oneness Apostolic hispanic only Organization - perhaps the 3rd Largest oneness group - They are mostly In CA.AZ and TX. there are a few churches in other states too but the majority are still in CA. - most of their large Prominant churches are here and there is one in Phoenix(that i know of).Their Women are required to wear Veils to church. Some of their more liberal churches have become relaxed on the veils but the majority still wear them to church.

Issac Gutierrez is apart of the GB5 -a Latino gospel group.
GB5 has roots in AA infact went to the same church Vonnie Lopez attended when she was in the AA.
One of the members owns his own business and some of his clients have reported him for not rendering the job and products he has promised them--his clients went to a local news station hoping a reporter (who exposes business that expliot their cleints) would help them get back their funds.
Able Aguilar is a prominate speaker and well known for his passion in the pulpit within the AA organization-he was pastoring a church in the Santa Maria area.

Now now, be fair, from what I've heard gossip is KING around here, fair fodder for all and its definitely not good christian testimony., it shouldn't BE ABOUT org's all JESUSname saints are brothers/sisters., I don't know WHY some people just DELIGHT in finding some bad things goin on in Christ-dom., its rather immature, as well as plalin MEAN if you ask me.
I know you won't. :D

IF I were that man, or anyone being gossipped about or "slandered" online, I'd surely be taking legal action againstfolks with such petty outlooks :blah
that they have nothing better to do than point fingers at other bro/sis's, flaws, while avoiding the mirror.
MANY people in business are always being sued by people simply NOT wanting to pay., as well as some genuine grievances, so what else is new?

NOT Hispanic-only please get facts; many non-hispanics are members., to my knowledge noone has ever been REQUIRED (sounds like forced) to wear the veils., but the majority are fine with it especially if the leaderships do bible studies on that topic., there will always be those within Christdom who refuse to do most anything different from 'the world'.

Please...I was born and raised in the AA. My father and mother were high ranking officials. My mother sold veils with the "flor azul". They sold veils in the lobby at their conferences. If you did not obey, they intimidated you and made you feel like an outsider. If you were at a restaurant, they expected you to put it on to pray for your food and if you forgot a veil, they took the napkin and put it over their head.
Growing up my sisters wore one to appease the veil police! Save your apology for somebody who doesn't know any better.
You are welcome to wear whatever you want, but don't make it appear that it's voluntary. They (taliban) may not of sent you to hell, but you were certainly sent to purgatory.

The thing you have to learn about everyone around here is we all get along.. we can mess with each other, fight with each other, pick on each other... but we all love each other and are tighter than a glove when the need arises. I know its hard to realize this being new and I understand that.. but chill and just stand back and enjoy. There are good parts of this forum... you seem to just be involved in some of the spats (wondering if thats on purpose but we wont go there LOL) and that seems to be all you see... There is really a lot of love around here and most of all.. Family... we do accept everyone and anyone.. if they come with the right spirit.... or if we beat it into them.. lol... the biggest thing is... It takes time to get to know us all. Yea most of us have been around forever and ever and ever amen... LOL Just fact but we are open to new friends and people and we have proven that by how this place has grown... RELAX,,,, CHILL.... and ENJOY...

I suppose they WERE, but like everything else in THE CHURCH, people are more and more gaining momentum to do exactly as THEY please.

You are welcome to wear whatever you want, but don't make it appear that it's voluntary. They (taliban) may not of sent you to hell, but you were certainly sent to purgatory.
Having been baptized into the AA almost 10yrs ago, just about everyone wore them, and as the years have slipped by I've seen less of the younger women commit to wearing them, BUT its has been MY experience that no one so-called "enforced" them nor made others to feel bad about it., when women ask questions to the other sisters ABOUT the veils, we (not the pastor) answer them, and provide a veil IF they ask for one., I have seen this happen more than not.
Sorry that your experience may have been different, again I don't think that anyone should be forced to do something that is not from the heart or soul., it rather negates the intent., I've seen many of the high-ranking(?) official sisters NOT wear them to pray before eating at public restaurants, soo nothing surprises me. People being human, is all.

I dont believe in Santa but The Lord has wonderfully given me more than I deserve. A wonderful husband and wonderful children who are all filled with the holy ghost and a wonderful church and family.. wonderful friends and a wonderful home. Wonderful people to spend the holidays and many wonderful presents beneath my tree which I will indeed enjoy... And I have nothing I am ashamed to go before God for whatsoever.. I am blessed and happy... which by your posts on this and another forum show you are far from that... Have a wonderful holiday and be blessed!

Doesn't somebody know the story behind this thread? The story behind the newscast?
Any good reason this AA brother has not refunded this money or delivered what he sold? Since we all know that all Hispanic people are related surely Monkeyman knows the "story behind the story"? LOL!!!

I suppose they WERE, but like everything else in THE CHURCH, people are more and more gaining momentum to do exactly as THEY please.
Period.
Personally I don't consider it a 'standard' but a holy consecration unto GOD and biblically correct as well. I struggle to comprehend how some women can be so against something so awesome. *shrug*
Wearing a veil is definitly a standard in the AA. It is still enforced in the majority of AA churches.

[QUOTE=simplyme;335653]Having been baptized into the AA almost 10yrs ago, just about everyone wore them, and as the years have slipped by I've seen less of the younger women commit to wearing them, BUT its has been MY experience that no one so-called "enforced" them nor made others to feel bad about it., when women ask questions to the other sisters ABOUT the veils, we (not the pastor) answer them, and provide a veil IF they ask for one., I have seen this happen more than not.QUOTE]
Thank you for bolding the part where you said it has been YOUR experience. While I do enjoy preaching and ministering in the AA, and the friendships I have ,anyone that has been around the AA for a while knows that the veil HAS been a divise issue.
The AA wouldn't fellowship with us in Chicago, because our women didn't wear veils. When we DID fellowship the Apostolic women ALWAYS made comments about the 'non' veil wearing UPC women. I've gone to dinner where everyone pulls out there veil and if someone forgot theirs, they'd use a napkin or share one with another sister.
There are a FEW Churches that aren't big on the veil anymore, but for the most part this is still very important. It IS a standard, found in their standards of holiness....not something optional.

For members I suppose that this is so, but for myself, I never saw it so-called "enforced"., nor read it in the 'Constitution, nor heard it preached about - strongly suggested? YES., but nothing comes of forcing anyone to do ANYthing it will certainly not foster UNITY in and of itself.
Even now that I don't attend AAchurches anymore, it is still part of MY personal consecration for GOD, as well as obedience to Him, to cover my head for prayer and reading THE WORD. I find it reprehensible for anyone to use this issue as something to cause division, gossip or anything not conducive to projecting a christian spirit, or of loving GOD - come on! He notices details like that., LOVE is the only standard that truly matters at the end of the day.
Humans can be :bubble so ridiculous sometimes.

Once again we are being educated by AFF threads. I was not aware of the veil requirement. I've heard of it but this is confirmation.
Is the veil in place of long hair or in addition to long hair??

The AA does teach a women should have long hair, it does not teach it is a sin to cut it. The veil is used when praying or prophesying. So, they do not teach the physical hair is a covering,They believe a women should cover her head physically when praying. This custom comes from the spanish culture which has its roots in Roman Catholicism.

Everything staysharp has said is correct. The veils are predominently seen when they go to church.

that it was a dishonor to Christ when a man prayed or prophesied with his head covered, and in like manner it was regarded everywhere as dishonorable and improper for a woman to lay aside the appropriate symbol of her sex, and the emblem of subordination, and to be uncovered in the presence of the man 1Co_11:3-5; that if a woman was not veiled, if she laid aside the appropriate emblem of her sex and of her subordinate condition, she might as well part with her hair, which all knew would be dishonorable and improper 1Co_11:6; that the woman had been created for a subordinate station, and should observe it 1Co_11:7-9; that she should have power on her head because of the angels (1Co_11:10
Qoute by Albert Barnes notes on the Bible
and that nature on this subject was a good instructor, and showed that it was uncomely for a woman to pray with her head uncovered, that her hair had been given her for an ornament and for beauty, and that, as it would be as improper for her to remove her veil as to cut off her hair, nature itself required that this symbol of her subordination should be laid aside in public, 1Co_11:13-16.

1 Corinthians 11 -
The apostle reprehends the Corinthians for several irregularities in their manner of conducting public worship; the men praying or prophesying with their heads covered, and the women with their heads uncovered, contrary to custom, propriety, and decency, 1Co_11:1-6.
Adam Clarkes Commentary on the Bible
wherefore for him to appear, and join in public worship, with his head covered, is to dishonour his head, 1Co_11:4 as, on the other hand, for a woman to have her head uncovered in divine service, is to dishonour her head, it being all one as if her head was shaved, 1Co_11:5 wherefore it is concluded, that if it is a shame for her to be shaved or shorn, she ought to be covered when attending the worship of God, 1Co_11:6.
