We were just looking at our Honeysuckle White turkey, and the wrapper reads, "Spicy...Cajun Style..."

My mom says that's the last time she sends me to the store without my glasses...anyway, my question...

Has anyone ever had one of these birds?!

Is it super spicy?!

Are the spices already on/in the turkey...I mean if there's a packet inside the wrapper, I can just discard with no worry?!

Never had one, but it sounds yummy to me.

We're having Honeybaked Turkey Breast. One plain Honeybaked and one Smoked Honeybaked. They're covered and soaked in the stuff Honeybaked Hams are made with. Have you ever had a Honeybaked Ham? YUM!! But definately NOT good for making gravy. Too, too sweet.

As far as I am concerned, this turkey sounds GREAT!!

Thank you...was afraid of that.

But you know, I always thoroughly rinse the thing, but the package reads to not do this because of the seasoning.

So I think if I do as I normally do and rinse him good, it might ease up on it some...what do you all think?!

Mercy...I thought a turkey was a turkey...!!

Never had a honeybaked turkey...

Have had the ham many times, but in recent years decided to do my own...cheaper that way.

I just warm brown sugar and honey in a sauce pan, pour it into a crock pot, place the ham in and cover, turning every now and then.

In case anyone is interested, the turkey was wonderful...really moist with a great taste, but heavenly days...was it ever spicy!! Whooo... :star

lol Lots of gravy ladeled over it might helped to tone down the hotness. *shrug*
Oh well you live and learn.

I think it would be a nice change to get the Cajun style as my husband likes SPICY food and I can live with it.

We are still awaiting our turkey and ham dinner to be ready but now I'm no longer hungry after all that cooking. *sigh*
I just LOVE to cook *he luvs to eat tho he doesn't gain an ounce* and on any day off I WILL cook!
AND bake.

I asked my Jewish Friend once about The Day of Atonement. He said it is a family occasion and they have a huge meal and play games. I pressed further regarding religious occasion. "It is not a religious holiday at all anymore."

EB, lets not be offensive to those who do have a family get together this week.
