No, The forum is software,
so it can be neither friendly or not.
However;
Some people on here are friendly, some are not.
Some are legalistic, some are not,
Some are bigoted, some are not ,
Some are nuts, some are not.
Some are sharp as a bolin' ball, some are not,
Some egos are big as Dallas, some are not.
Some are emotionally challenged, some are not.
Some are pretty smart, some are not,
Some are funny, some are not,
Some noses are runnin' money, some are snot

Over all, I'd say most people on this forum are a really nice group of folks, but some are not.

Merry Christmas EVERYBODY!!!!!

I am blessed by friends here. If we want friends we must be friendly and that does not mean we have to believe exacltly alike...My doctor is Jehovah Witness and is a precious lady...I always remember to say May Jehovah bless you as I leave her office...(and I am glad I know who Jehovah is and that does not make me better than her)
We can state our opinions without on purpose offending others...

IMO, AFF is a little too friendly sometimes.

You can hug a snake all you want, but in the end it still has poison ready to flow through it's fangs.

I think admin has bent over backwards to accomodate varying beliefs, but some folks have taken advantage of that kindness.

Renda, Merry Christmas, and I want you to know I really appreciate all you, and all other admins, do for us.

I was just lurking over on the movie thread and am astonished at the lingo used by Nathan and others bashing Oneness Pentecostals.

That junk gets old (and I like Nathan).

The last month or two has really pushed the limits of tolerance and decency around here. There is an entirely different environment that is unfriendly and spiteful, and it does not come from admins.

Been gone for a week because I didn't like it.

For the most part it is, alas, it is made up of mortals-fallen humanity who are in the process of being like the King.

Some days are better than others, and some are a little farther along than others, but we are (I believe) trying to do what is right!

Perhaps 2008 will afford us all an opportunity to do just a little better than in 2007!

Me? Bash Oneness Pentecostals?

I did not. I was bashing the concept of an untouchable and unquestionable demagoguery often considered the only leader of a church -- and that isn't a Oneness pentecostal thing, that's a problem that extends across Christendom as a whole beginning in Catholicism and ending with Pentecostalism -- reaching every single denomination (or ministerial fellowship) between those two points. The only time that I said anything even remotely about oneness is when I mentioned the modern apostolic doctrine - and, even then, I merely said that I didn't follow it. That's not bashing, merely stating a fact.

I apologize for not fitting into that box... I've been gone from the Apostolic church too long and seen the wide world of Christendom to really pick on a single group within the whole.

And I like you, too... :D

I think it is great, never had a bad experience that I didn't deserve. For the most part I am all about diplomacy, and really am a "follow the rules" kinda guy.

Just decided not to follow some of them, but have no animus to those who do, and recognize the right of any organization to define what their parameters are going to be.

No desire to bash anyone, and have no desire to be bashed either.

AFF is good for me, as I am fairly isolated in my area.

Friendly is good, I like friendly. But I must say that I can't be friends with everything that calls itself Christian doctrine. Like doctrines stating there is salvation without obedience to the Gospel. I can be friendly without being friends with that doctrine. Doctrines promoting a false triune God, I can be friendly without being friends with that. Doctrines embracing worldly lifestyles...I can be friendly without bieng friends with that.

Freindly, yes that is me, I'll be kind to you even if I disagree with you in a big way. Hey I just spent Christmas with a same sex female couple and their 4 adopted kids. I like them on a personal level, and I am friendly. But I ain't friends with their lifestyle.

Same thing someone expects me to be friends with their doctrine if it isn't straight up Bible, not going to be friends with that....

It's a false misperception that salvation by faith equals someone can be disobedient all they want and be saved.

Part of the problem though, I believe, is the fault of those that hold this view around here in how they argue their position...or rather fail to argue their position and instead resort to emotive arguments or mockery.

People that believe in salvation by faith alone apart from works do not advocate salvation apart from obedience. It's just that our individual works themselves do not earn us salvation. However someone that truely has faith will be obedient to the gospel or other wise they really don't have the faith they say they do. At least that is my take

I don't think 1 steppers would say acts 2:38 is optional though. They would argue that baptism in and of itself has no saving power, however one can not be saved and be disobedient. They would also say that repentance is absolutely essential. Sadly though insult and mockery have replace sincere explanation and dialogue when it comes to these doctrinal issues

I think I've certainly encountered friendly discussion. I attempt to make people think outside of spoon fed paradigms and might draw certain emotions out of some which otherwise might remain hidden. And yes, some are less cordial than others at times, but usually only when they become overly frustrated and defensive when cornered on a particular issue they are passionate about. It's difficult to realize you may be mistaken concerning something and even more difficult to remain open-minded and malleable.

When all is said and done, I think we have a good friendly group passionate for truth.

I only wish more would take the following ancient prayer to heart:

From the cowardice that shrinks from new truth;
From the laziness that is content with half truth;
From the arrogance that thinks it knows all truth;
Oh, God of Truth, deliver us!

It's a group of people interacting together. Things ain't always pretty.

We have become like a big family. We have a fantastic dynamic going on here.
It's not always so precious, though.

Sometimes things get HEATED! But it stimulates folks to reach down deep to express heartfelt thoughts and opinions.

Makes for some great entertainment and certainly the exchange of ideas can be edifying as well as educational. LOL WHOO HOOOO!!!
