As you may or may not know, the music director from Heritage Christian Center was recently arrested for sexual assault on a child, among other things.

Police arrested 38-year-old James Brown at a home in Arapahoe County Thursday morning on charges of sexual assault on a child. They say the alleged assault happened at the home.

Friday evening, Garret Leonard, the Executive Pastor at Heritage Christian Center sent 9NEWS the following statement: "Effective immediately Mr. Brown has been relieved from all of his duties at Heritage Christian Center. We will assess the situation as more details become available. We will continue to pray for all parties involved in this situation."

I suppose the only significance to this story is that Landy Ewing was once the music director at this church here in Denver.

Phil...I could be wrong, but I don't think Michelle is there any longer.

I had a friend that was music director at Heritage for about 6 mos. The stories he told me were staggering. From the Pastor right on down to the janitors.......unbelievable.

I really have no idea, I haven't been there in years...actually since Landy was there.

He seemed to be a fish out of water if I recall correctly, but it was also at that same time when that church began to move from the right hand of the mainstream to the middle-left-prosperity gibberish...

I really like Dennis Leonard, as personable a guy you will ever come across. If you ever had the opportunity to speak to him one on one, you would still sense a genuine pastor's heart.

Michelle has been long gone from there.Last I heard,she took a position in the midwest(maybe Illinois?).

Is Landy still in Lake Charles? Word is that he is no longer there.

DENVER (AP) - The music minister at the Heritage Christian Center has been arrested after a 15-year-old relative accused him of sexually assaulting her, the Arapahoe County sheriff said.

James Howard Brown, 38, was arrested Thursday for investigation of sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, displaying a pattern of sexual assault on a child and aggravated incest.

He was being held under $50,000 bail. It was not immediately known if he had an attorney.

If im not mistaken he was originally from Los Angeles/Riverside area.
I remember hearing him play years ago in LA. and thinking " this guy is the best i have ever heard in my entire life". what a waste!

He was at Eddie longs and Bishop Curry's in Miami too.

I wouldn't say with him. LE traveled with Dwight Thompson, Rod Parsely, Becky Fender and played bass. Holy Ghost and Fire Crusades I think they called them.

B and M visited the house the other day, it appears they are doing well...B is still cutting hair...ladies hair and being used in the biggie church there as well as helping in G. I am proud of them hanging in there so far. God Bless Em!

What is the pass business you are talking about. Guys on the platform/being used/ministers, shouldn't be allowed to cut women's hair? The guy has to make a living after all...

Maybe he breaks down and cries the whole time he is cutting the ladies' hair and tells them how wrong it is but if they insist he will do his job but if they would like a short study on I Cor. 11 he would be glad to oblige and then they could both feel better! :D TIC :D

How many Dwight Thompsons are there?

Dwight Thompson that I am aware of is from Ft. Worth originally where his father pastored a AOG church. Dwight later became a well known Evangelist and pastor appearing on TBN quite a lot. Surely he can't be UPC.

THIS is a great website that exposed PERPS. It also states that N. A. URSHAN has stated that the UPCI has no duty to protect Any children in it's more than 21000 churches. I was really taken back by this statement that N A URSHAN wrote in a response to a Case where boys were molested in a church. They said that they hoped the new BISHOP DAVID BERNARD would think differently and react. HOW CAN ANYONE SAY that your CHURCH SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY DUTY TO PROTECT ANY KIDS ??? that is insane. I know that my moms church had to take out INSURANCE years ago to PROTECT them from Hiring anyone with a background of crimes committed against children. IT's every churches responsibility to protect everyone from anything inside those walls.
