View Full Version : Jonathan Suber's Official Announcement

James Griffin
01-02-2008, 08:42 PM
Suber Ministry Group, the International Ministry of Jonathan and Stephanie Suber, is currently re-locating to Shreveport, Louisiana. After spending the last four years developing an apostolic trans-mobile ministry, the Subers have accepted the pastorate of Faith Tabernacle after being appointed by Bishop Shelton Young. Dr.Young, along with his dear wife Alice, is retiring from pastoring after over 50 fruitful years in the Shreveport-Bossier area.

We are leaving Texas with great gratitude for Bishop Kenneth Phillips and Promiseland Church as well as Dr. W.E.Hutchins and Church of Champions. These Churches have sacrificed tremendously to allow us the liberty to develop our international traveling ministry as well as Issachar Institute. We will forever be indebted to Bishop Phillips for allowing us to base in Austin as the Resident Evangelist of Promiseland. Church. Stephanie has enjoyed this time with her family so very much. We are leaving Austin, but it will always hold a special place in our heart.

We are moving our offices to Shreveport this week to begin the next phase of our life and ministry. We are so excited about re- entering pastoral ministry and the future of Faith Tabernacle, New Testament Church. We will be developing a new church website asap, but will keep you informed on our SMG site in the meantime. We will continue to develop new teaching product and materials for spiritual development. The kick-off of our new FaithWorks orphanage in Philippines as well as the new on-line FaithWorks Institute will be coming soon. We are both working on new books to be released this year.

We appreciate our friends and partners so much for all of your prayers and support these last few months. This has been one of the most crucial decisions of our lives and we have not taken it lightly. We are convinced that there are things we are called to do that can only be accomplished through pastoral ministry. We are grateful to the congregation of Faith Tabernacle for selecting us as their next Senior Pastor and we look forward to spending the best years of our lives loving and leading them.

Please remember our family in prayer during this time of travel, change, re-locating.

Jonathan and Stephanie Suber

T1,

you have some apologies to make.

you rebuked a lot of people and told them they were lying and saying that JS was NOT moving to Shreveport.

Thad I "believe" he said that he (Suber )had not committed yet. Since that announcement is minutes old, I think it's safe to say he just committed LOL

is the NCO another organization or more like a theology? the site leaves room for speculation. i actually live near shreveport. what is faith tab now-non-denom? i'm a little confused...why exactly did JS leave the UPC? standards as a whole or lots of things? not being critical...just curious. all this is pretty new to me...just trying to stay abreast.

Sigh.

Neither.

It has always been independent Apostolic.

Even though I speak to him almost daily never asked specific reasons, not really germane. But I am sure if it means that much to you his website is www.suberministrygroup.com and you can pop him an email or post since that is a question best asked of the man himself.

Thad would have started it, but he was out at the time.

And this UNLIKE the others is a statement from Pastor Suber, as opposed to idle speculation.

So hopefully will be last thread on the topic.

Where is he was going was not the only topic.

But yes the main issue was that of official acceptance.

What was not stated. He was voted in MONTHS ago by Faith Tabernacle. And it was not the only church he preached at that requested he come pastor.

Only if they are afraid of their pastors. And really any good saint would ask their pastor before visiting another church.

Pastor Suber preaches regularly at UPCI churches, and even preached at one New Year's eve. Some of his dearest friends are UPCI pastors. Since he left UPCI on good terms there is no reason to believe he will not be preaching for them and vice versa.

i assumed as such and glad to hear it. i just didn't know if he left on good terms or not...totally clueless. yeah-isn't it still up to the pastor to decide who preaches as a guest, etc? i don't know all the "rules" :)

that's so great to hear...in this day and age it's nice to see couples who really are a team and who truly love each other. my husband and i talk about how we feel sorry for people trapped in love-less marriages. not supposed to be that way. i am married to my best friend and it is a VERY comforting feeling. and a major blessing.

So very true..

One great thing about being in the ministry too is that every area of our life is connected...it's not like I get up and go to work at a job she is separate from..we are in all of this together!

Being married to your best friend is one of the greatest blessings this life can hold!

He is much improved... the addition of a good Canadian Queen to his castle has made him a much better man and man of God! He is now complete.

Houma is doing well. He came up to preach for us a little before Christmas and was his usual anointed self in the pulpit and his usual rascally self out of it. :D

News... Unfortunately, Alisa will never be able to have the little girl she always longed for. Her only option will be adoption going forward. I grieve for her every time she is around my curly haired brunette 2 year old grand daughter. When she says she is jealous of Olivia... you have no doubt that it is true.

yeah mine too...didn't know foster was his assistant though. when i used to go there they had already been through a lot of changes-upc then out then back in when i was there but they got a lot of criticism b/c the avg UPC person would visit and say "they are going charismatic" but they had soooo many visitiors/new converts that was why. sad b/c i heard a wise preacher say one time to look around your church and if there weren't people there that didn't look like u something was wrong...means there's no growth. since i hadn't been there in a few years i wasn't sure what was going on in ruston.

Let me kindly correct you on your scripture quote. The misquoting of II Thess. 2:10. is a common error. It actually says, "..because they received not the love of the truth, ...". One little letter in one little word makes all the difference in the meaning. I know what you were gunning for but it won't work in this case.

Sorry don't play the circular argument like some of my friends do. LOL

It was not known weeks ago, it was speculated, however it was even stated as PROBABLE then.

Been long day, I can point direction to articles concerning the finer points of offer and acceptance if you need :-)

Even though it was probable, more likely than not, it is now official, as of Sunday Jan. 6th, he will be stationed out of Shreveport.
I guess this kind of speculation is only valid against the Tulsa folks and against the more conservative folks in the UPC

And why in the world would a good saint need to ask their pastor for permission to go hear the truth preached??? I don't ask my pastor for permission to go to Walmart or to work, why would I need permission to go to church???

Obviously you were not raised in old time Pentecost where your life is pretty much lined out for you from what clothes you can and cannot wear to where you can and cannot go. Everybody knows a pastor can't trust his saints to visit another church! They would immediately fall into error (oh, and perhaps leave and not pay tithes)
