I guess this can be considered a spin-off of the 'Apostolic Authority" thread.
So just how much authority does the believer have. Has God really given the believer authority over the devil and his demons? What is the believers authority limited to? Does he have authority over unclean spirits.... cancer......diseases..... his wife.......her husband........the flesh??
He has as much authority as he/she can believe God for.

I believe we have authority in the name of Jesus . Everything is subject to that name both in heaven and earth.
I have taken on his name in baptism so I am his and I dont know about you but I want to take care of my children in the time of need.
We have the authority but is it more faith than authority to see the results we need?

Maybe Mathtew, it's the things you mentioned do not have power or dominion over us anymore.
Luke's gospel tells us to rejoice, not because we have power over the devil, but because our names are written in the lambs book of life.
Not an exact quote but close as I remeber.

They have the authority with the Grace of God for their own actions and testimony.
God is sovereign. No matter how much faith we think we have.
