View Full Version : The Red Toenail Controversy: The Meeting of Steadfast & Sherri

Okay, it's the truth. Sherri threatened to show up at her Brother's Church with painted toenails and then she hid them in 'toe in' shoes! I nearly broke my neck looking at all the toes walking by! I looked like a massively depressed man who could scarecely lift his head up for condemnation! Little did they know I was trying to find a 'forum friend'!

On a serious side, I spotted her right away as I was sitting on the row in front of her on the other end of the pew. I recognized her from her avatar. I'm relatively sure she had no idea who I was.

Folks, got to tell you that Sherri is one SWEET lady! I was pleasantly surprised to find her such an easy person to talk to. We were able to talk in the sanctuary after the service for a while and then in the fellowship hall after Church. Unfortunately someone walked up to talk to me and she must have left while I was preoccupied.

Miss Sherri, was a JOY to get to meet you and I find you every bit as pleasant as your brother I love dearly. I look forward to meeting you again someday. I'm preaching in Jackson, Tennessee in a few months and maybe I'll have the chance to meet you and your husband on my way through.

Blessings on you and yours!

Sherri is one sweet lady for sure and loads of fun!

Steadfast, make sure you let us know here when you are speaking in Jackson, TN it's only an hour away from me and I'll wear sandals so you can see my painted toenails easier!

Elder Steadfast, when we come down next week, I won't be wearing toenail polish.

You'll have to figure out some other way to recognize me. ;)

I would love to see you, Phil!

Carey, i smile all the time, just not in pictures. I have to have a reason to smile, and someone pointing a camera at me doesn't seem like a good reason. :)

I am a happy person, and really kind of a joker. Constantly sour and somber I am not.

Honestly, I know I've been sour the past week or so, but things are looking up! :bliss

Are you preaching at Bro. Lance's church?
If so...I will have my Mother and Grandmother find you. My Grandfather is a founding board member of that church and my family remains pillars there.
I would love for you to meet them.

Well, I did indeed get to meet Steadfast, although I was disappointed that he did not look one thing like his avatar picture! Maybe he just doesn't have a tan now. Anyway.....he's a great guy and I can see why my brother and his wife love them so much. My neice and nephew are crazy about him!

The Sanctuary is an awesome place and SO HUGE!!! I was very proud of Scott and Bro. Dugas for what they've accomplished there. They made us all feel so at home and even let me go back for the minister's fellowship, even though Eddie wasn't there.

It was great to visit with the Rigdon's. Virginia is 81 now and she was so tickled to see my mom and dad, since she introduced them in the early fifties. Dan & his wife were there, as well as Heather, who I knew from Christ Church.

Stan Gleason did a great job; I had never heard him before. Very personable and distinguished.

AND YES, I DID COVER UP THOSE RED TOENAILS!!! I tried my best to blend in with the crowd, although I'm sure I didn't completely.

Bro. NLYP,

Yes, I'm going to be preaching for Bro. Lance in a few months. He's been a great friend for years and was actually here with me in revival for about 3 1/2 months at one point.

Bro. Jones,

You would be MOST welcome to come enjoy some fellowship with us! I figure if CoonBishop is preaching it's going to be good so there's no need to worry about the quality of ministry!

Let's plan on it.

For the record, I bribed the kids from a very young age with candy, horses and generally making a way for them to do whatever their hearts desired!

Don't tell me that I'm not 'Papaw' material! (Which, for the record, I will LITERALLY be in about 5 more weeks!)

Now, as for your Brother and Sister in Law.... I'm not sure how I fooled them into being our friends. :tease

Glad you got home safe and sound.

Not sure what the name of the Church is. I know Bro. Donald Lance Jr. is the Pastor. Tennessee is one of those places that I've not preached a lot for some reason.

Yeah, that's the Lighthouse. It's actually only about a mile from our church. I don't know the new pastor at all; it's where Ron Brown was for years. You will enjoy it.
