View Full Version : Brown sugar smokies
I don't know if this has been posted or not but I wanted to share this recipe.
I made this for a fellowship meeting last night and it was a big hit.
Bacon Wrapped Lit'l Smokies
You need a pack of smokies plus some bacon and about 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Cut bacon slices in half. Wrap each smokie with bacon and put a tooth pick through each to hold the bacon on. Place all bacon wrapped smokies in a baking dish. Sprinkle with brown sugar. Heat for 45 minutes in a 350 degree F oven. Serve on a platter or remove toothpick and put in a crock pot to keep them warm as guests munch along.
Instead of sprinkling the brown sugar on the bacon/smokies it rolled them in the brown sugar. This works best if you use a broiler pan so the grease can drip through.

Eww, I detest pinto beans. Sorry!
But the smokies recipe sounds very good. Think I'll make some of them soon. Thanks for posting it.

you can do the samething with waterchestnuts, scallops, shrimp, etc etc.... you can replace the sugar with worcestershire, soy, teriyaki, barbecue sauce, etc etc... simply use your imagination and likes to get carried away with you. no telling what you will come up with and be excellent. these are great party foods. time consuming if you have to make very many of them. all that wrapping and sticking toothpicks in them.
yummilicious though
