Verse 1
I remember standing on the auction block of sin,
Satan controlled me, he had the highest bid.
But the ownership was transferred way back on Calvary,
Jesus whispered, "Child I bought you so that you could be set free."

Chorus:
He that the son has set free is free indeed.
No more chains of slavery.
Truth has triumphed with liberty.
He that the son has set free is free indeed.

Verse 2
Now I belong to Jesus, I'm a child of the king,
I traded filthy garments for a robe of royalty.
The chains that used to bind me are laying at my feet,
You see the devil can't make a lock that the Lord doesn't hold the key.

This is a good song!!! Our church used to sing it all the time and I loved it. It has been a few years since I have heard it.

All I know is, I deserve a medal for pulling those words out! I haven't played that song since 1995.

Uh-oh...is this early signs of Alzheimers, considering I can remember those words but I can't remember what I ate today? :sad

What I need to know is who was the original recording artist? I'm thinking either Carmen or David & the Giants, but for some reason, neither one seems quite right.
