With the launching of the WPF and the formation of the new Southern California District, the Western District will look completely different one year from now.

The Western District and the new Southern California District will hold joint events in 2008 and begin to hold separate events in 2009.

It is too early to tell how many WD churches, Pastors and ministers will join the WPF, as many are undecided at this point. After all the dust settles, is it possible that the WD may only have 100 or so licensed ministers left?

Lot's of opportunity for young minsters to start new churches....

Many places that were closed will be opened to new UPC churches!!

Concerning NorCal....

SoCal is staying for the most part UPC I believe....

Surely there will be many more opportunities in SoCal too, as it was just the UC's that were territorial. The folks that are remaining are only interested in revival and will welcome many more pastors to start works in their cities.

Right????

:hmmm

STIX...posting???? Surely, we are in the last of the last days! LOL!

The Southern California District is pretty much staying in tact. I think WPF took about 5 or 6 pastors. As I said before, the ministers in the Southern part of the State were basically ignored and not represented (except for the presbyters). It really was a forgotten place...however, when so much of the leadership was located in the Valley...it just made some sense.

I think the new Western District will be smaller....and will probably see a different shift from the Ultra Conservative viewpoint to a more Conservative/Moderate.

As a SoCal'er...I am excited to participate in some events in 2009 in the new district.

I believe there somewhere around 600+ preachers here. I doubt we are losing 500+ to WPF

There are some cities that men are not allowed in even if they would go the legal upc distance away, because the men are well known and have thrown a fit to keep them out... If they are not in UPC then their fit throwing won't matter... If they went and still maintained the distance the UPC set, they are not "skunks."

This territorial stuff is small minded and rediculous... I know a town in TX where there are two UPC churches across the street from each other and one block away on the other side there are two independent churches... They are fine with it and all of them but one has several hundred members.

I think it will all smoothe out within 2 years.

the Northern Calif. Youth convention is moving to stockton and I think it will be as big as ever.

we only lost one church (that i know of) in our section and we are in ultra con territory. The church that left is not going with WPF. they are to the right of them
