Hello everyone,

I'm new here. I have been visiting for a couple weeks and like what I see. I have been around UPCI as long as there has been a UPC and even before, in fact, since 1939, so as you can see I'm almost as old as dirt but very young at heart. My Dad was a UPCI pastor, my brother was a UPCI pastor and I also was a UPCI pastor until I went into Christian Education, teaching high school.

I lost my wonderful wife of 53 years in 2006 and I was devastated. God gave me a wonderful woman to fill the void in my life and we were married four months ago. She was also a UPCI pastor's wife.

UPCI is a great organization although I don't believe we will be the only ones roaming the streets of gold!!

God has been so good to me over the years. My theme for life is:

La vie est un voyage
pas une destination

We're happy to have you, Sounworthy. This is a diverse group and, as such, we have some diversified conversations. You'll read things from both sides of the fences, and you'll hear from those who "straddle the fences". Then.... on occasion...you'll hear from some who are busy trying to tear the fences down! So, welcome...

I am very sorry for your loss , but am glad God has brought someone into your life. I can relate to you felt after your loss. May God bless you and Mrs. Sounworthy and we hope to hear from you often!

You might have to translate your motto for me. The French lauguage (if thats French) hasn't made it to this part of Alabama yet.

Thanks everyone for the great welcome. I already feel at home.Yes, my motto is in French and it means: Life is a journey, not a destination.

I believe our time to work is getting short and it is no time for Aposotolics to be bickering among themselves. We need to stick together. If we have personal convictions about certain things we had better obey those convictions but not try to force our personal convictions on others. Many of our convictions are not the commandments of God but one commandment that is repeated over and over and yet overlooked by so many is LOVE. Don't get me wrong, I am UPC and still hold true to most of the old standards but I am very hurt by tha attitudes of many who if they don't get their way they go off in a huff and cause strife among the brethern and yes that is one of the things God hates.

Thanks for letting me have my say this morning.
