Great things about Georgia? Way too many to list. I am 2 hours from the mountains and 3 hours from the beach.
I live far enough out where all my neighbors can't hear me yell from my back deck, and I can be in a mid-size town in 30 minutes (Athens), and a large city (Atlanta) in less than 90 minutes!
The absolute greatest group of people in the world allow me to be their pastor!

The best place for bbq is Famous Dave's on Powers Ferry in Marietta. They are very good and not to pricy either. I don't know about their ribs though. I never had them. But if it is like anything else on the menu they are good. Oh wait, my daughter did get the riblets a few times. Yes, :nod they were good.

The devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal.
He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal. :nod
When he came across this young man sawin' on a fiddle and playin' it hot.
And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what: :aaa
"I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you play a pretty good fiddle, boy, but give the devil his due:
"I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."
The boy said: "My name's Johnny and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."

Well every time I read this thread ... "Georgia ..... Georgia ....." comes to mind. It's one of the few places in the US of A I haven't been to.
Georgia, Georgia, the whole day through
Just an old sweet song keeps Georgia on my mind
Georgia, Georgia, a song of you
Comes as sweet and clean
As moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach to to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
The roads leads back to you
Georgia, Georgia, no peace I find
Just an old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind

My husband was. He and my oldest son completed our first deputation by themselves.....traveled for about 6 weeks while I was home getting packed, etc. because FMD wanted us in HK sooner than what had been planned.
They traveled in Georgia and Florida part of that time, but I missed out. We weren't scheduled there at all our 2nd deputation so I know not of whom you speak. ;) :)

The church doesn't have a new pastor yet. I'm not sure what is going on with that. Brother Bush preached at my grandparents church last night. They are barely able to move so they don't go to church much anymore but they had to go hear him preach. He is a loved man.
Correct: The Jesup church just got a pastor.

We ate catfish for the first time while in La. and I have to say I really enjoyed it. Of course I really like white fish. We don't have catfish here in the Vancouver area, as far as I know. Maybe I should start up a Catfish Restaurant.:dunno

Definetly NOT the pollen count. It is 5499! When it is above 700 they say it is high and you should stay indoors.
The major pollens present are oak, sweet gum, birch, sycamore, mulberry, and beech.
If you have allergies this is not the place for you right now. If you don't have allergies this is not the place for you right now because you will soon have allergies! Everything outside is yellow from the pollen. Makes it very hard to breath.

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.
The first man had married a woman from Colorado and had told her that she was going to do dishes and house cleaning. It took a couple days, but on the third day he came home to a clean house and dishes washed and put away.
The second man had married a woman from Nebraska. He had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. The first day he didn't see any results, but the next day he saw it was better. By the third day, he saw his house was clean, the dishes were done, and there was a huge dinner on the table.
The third man had married a girl from Georgia. He told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, lawn mowed, laundry washed and hot meals on the table for every meal. He said the first day he didn't see anything, the second day he didn't see anything, but by the third day some of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye, enough to fix himself a bite to eat and load the dishwasher....
You know, you really gotta love those GEORGIA gals...

the greatest thing about Georgia is when I would see the sign that says "Welcome to Florida" or "Welcome to South Carolina"
the best part of Georgia is LEAVING IT BEHIND. Nasty state. Ugly too. All that red dirt.
You probably give praise to the devil during testimony service too!

I know the Blizzards. He was pastoring in Augusta, Georgia. I assume they are still there. Their son-in-law (April's husband) preaches for my dad some.
Oh My !! I am so showing my age. :D I remember when April was a baby.
Bro. Randy Blizzard is pastoring in Las Vegas the last we heard.
Bro. Wesley McClain (Sis Sherry Sheppard) is pastoring in Augusta.
The only Gail that comes to my memory is Gail Thomas. I'm not sure who she married.

When I did the google search I saw they converted the old greyhound bus station on Broad St downtown Columbus. The one I remember was near Columbus Square, long before Peachtree Mall.
I love their Goober Pie. ;)

Columbus is right on the state line. Many folks live in one city and work in the other.
I even lived in Alabama and went to school in Georgia temporarily in the 7th grade. ( many moons ago)
I have lots of kin in Alabama. ;)
