Well? Do you pray for the UPC? For unity? For those in leadership to to succumb to corruption etc etc? I hear a lot of anti-UPC rhetoric and it's said they have no animosity but if that is true do you pray for the UPC to become better or do you passively hope for it's demise?

The UPC is inanimate. It's akin to praying for a rock.

Pray for the leaders of the UPC? Sure. They are people. However, the UPC is just an organization.

Unity? Have they ever had that in the UPC?

Daily on my prayer list. As well as any group that preaches Apsotolic truth. I have been known to pray for some of the very men who are vehemently making their opinions known around here. :heeheehee

Uhm, not sure the rock analogy is really correct. Of course, we do realize the prayers are for the poeple who make up the organization.

I don't know if I have ever prayed for the UPC but in every prayer I pray for all God's men who preach truth and their families and precious saints of God around the world. And I pray for every missionary preaching truth.

I would hope so, but around here, one never knows!

Sigh....having an intelligent conversation these days is like pulling teeth.

Did I at least spell my words correctly?

Unity? Have they ever had that in the UPC?
Then PRAY FOR IT! Good grief people...

Some of the people that comment negatively about the UPC and see only corruption and rarely have anything good to say....if you think the UPC as an organization is having problems then DO YOU pray that such problems will be resolved so the UPC can help you non-UPCers reach this lost world with the gospel?

I think there are positive changes that are taking place, but it still has a long way to go. In the meantime, the old-timers want to bail because they don't like the changes.

I wonder why Paul didn't start an organization?

Do you realize the question isn't "what is wrong with the UPC"? :-)

Do you pray for the UPC and all the problems real or imagined, that it as an organization of men is going through?

Do you pray for the leaders of the UPC? Considering all the "problems" what do we do? Just talk about it? Prayer..Im asking if anyone is praying for this group as well as other Oneness groups? How much time is left...if you are not a preterist? We can point out all kinds of deficiencies BUT is prayer being made or is this really just a side show to entertain some of us like watching some contestant on American Idol sink into nothingness?

DO YOU PRAY FOR THE UPC?

I pray that our leaders will not compromise on the truth, from local pastors to the G.S.

Are you trying to say that you want this thread to stay on track? ROFL!!!

Is your point in asking a close-ended question really the reason why this thread exists? Isn't there any kind of discussion you'd rather have?

Yes, I pray for it. I pray for it's leaders. I pray for it's ministers.

There. Simple question; simple answer.

Simple answers make for boring discussion.

You're welcome!

Besides, who said the answer was no?

An organism enmassed to itself within a body is a tumor.

I am meaning no disrespect towards the UPC in the least. I was raised UPC.

But the day and time that we are living in we have got to lose the measurements and think as a whole body.

Even local churches get the "our church is awesome" thing going. Your church cannot be "awesome" without the neighboring churches becoming just regular churches in ones mind.

There is one body made up of many members and the times demand that we become blind to the lines we have drawn in the past.

Doing so can put within us a mindset that can be conducive to God doing such a thing that it cannot be said "awesome things are going on at our church" or "God is doing some amazing things in the UPC" but we will indeed, due to the enormity of the demonstration of His power be forced to say "God is truly doing a world wide work"

I do see a need for prayer of unity within the body. The body as a whole. If I enjoy such complete unity with one group of brethren and do not, with equal ferver, seek unity with all other brethren who walk in truth then the body has experienced seperation within itself.

So, to me, the wise & prudent prayer would be for unity within the body as a whole and not for any particular organization within that body.

D4T,
I hope with your post coming in at #25 in this series it can be considered as "worth-the-read" and not viewed as inconsistent with the core question posed by Prax's thread.

Hey, I can hope can't I!:rooting

Hi Prax,Have you noticed that in the Lords prayer as it's called, the Lord taught us to pray forgive Us,give US,deliever US and so on ? He didn't teach ME<ME<ME,But he taught US<US<US.US includes me.Just a point to consider.
