Peacock while driving down the road today. Can you believe that? I live in AZ and I was not in the country, but a residential neighborhood. It may be someones pet but it almost became road kill. In my natvie state of TN, and possibly other, you can take home whatever you run over. You can eat it or mount it on your fire place if you choose. I wanted to share with you all my peacock story. Whoa it was a big big too. I was as big as a large turkey, but plain as day you could tell it was a peacock.

I hear they taste like chicken. Would have made an interesting hood ornament though:bliss

My oldest son is driving back to TN from Austin, Texas today. He called me a few minutes ago from interstate 35 or 30 and said that he just saw a hawk swoop down and pick up a rabbit!

The one I went after was not white it was the multi-colored mean ones. Its plumage was not out, but I am sure it probably lost some of it cause it was scared.

I would have died if I would have hit that. I wonder if it classifies as an endangered species!?!?!? I guess all of them are endangered if they run in the road.

We had a neighbor that had a couple of peacocks and a peahen, when they scream they are very scary sounding. He also had emus that escaped a time or two, and one of my sons would always be asked to help catch them. Hilarious to watch. Peacocks are not endangered I don't think. We had a red tailed hawk at our church one day waiting on catching a squirrel, finally did and took off. Of course there is a lady in a neighboring town that had 3 rescued ones that she was working with so the assumption was it was one of those and it was a successful release.

.....I almost hit a cougar a few weeks ago.

We have a loose one in this area for the past 6 months. Many have seen it and several have almost hit it as well since it seems to be hanging out at a certain section of the interstate.
