Well, I had to make the tough call. After conferring with asst. pastors, from the comfort of my beach chair in Bonita Bay, and after close to 2 feet of snow has fallen, we concluded that the best thing to do is to cancel service for tomorrow. I am sorry that I cannot be there in person, yuk, yuk.....but I think it is the best call to make! :D

MOW, we were just listening tot he weather on the Weather Channel. They were saying on there that what Cleveland is experiencing right now is actually worse than the Blizzard of '78. Were you in the area for that one? It was baaaaadddddd!!! Seems this storm slid just to the east of our area - a fact for which we give thanks to the Lord :)

Enjoy your time on the beach. Hope the snow is all gone before you come home.

MOW, you must have had the mind of God to have planned a beach vacation for this very week. My respect level for your spirituality just went way up!:thumbsup

My brother is in Elyria and he said he was out plowing his driveway for 4 hours. He is ready to move where it is warm I told him it snowed here in Texas for two days this week. OOOHHHH for sunny Florida:tissue

We were scheduled to be in Cincinnati this weekend for a concert, but it was canceled yesterday due to the storm.

It's winter in Ohio
And the gentle breezes blow
Seventy miles an hour
At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Ohio
When the snow's up to your butt
You take a breath of winter
And your nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around
I could never leave Ohio
'Cause I'm frozen to the ground

Relatives of mine from Indiana went to Ohio this weekend to visit some other relatives that live there. The blizzard is so bad they had to stop and camp out at a hotel only four miles from the Ohio relatives house. They can't go any further. Crazy.

I sincerely appreciate all the "kind" (jealous) words. However, I think that I have survived this storm.

Thankfully, my sons were home to "play" in the snow and clear it out in time for us to get back on Wednesday......when it will be in the 40's!!!!

My gift of "discernment" was working 100% this time!!!! Woo Hoo! I think I got a little sunburned today! :D

Can't understand letting a little snow getting in the way of going to church. You UPC people are sure getting weak. I'll go where you want me to go dear Lord as long as the weather is agreeable. :tissue

Relatives of mine from Indiana went to Ohio this weekend to visit some other relatives that live there. The blizzard is so bad they had to stop and camp out at a hotel only four miles from the Ohio relatives house. They can't go any further. Crazy.

We got a call yesterday morning that the Saturday morning outreach was cancelled. Pastor said he'd let us know about Sunday. Some kids came by and shoveled our driveway and sidewalk but they filled back in. Then the snowplow left a two foot high wall of snow at the bottom of the driveway. We did get a call Saturday evening that Services would be at the regular time Sunday, but since we had a driveway full of snow and the road was blocked we opted to stay home. Today the temperature got up to 41. Some of the snow melted. I got the driveway pretty well cleared. The wall of snow at the end of the driveway got down to about a foot. So, we used the pickup truck (it's not 4 wheel drive) and got through the wall of snow. The roads are fine so we got to a nearby hospital to visit a neighbor/friend there and pray for him.

You've still got your Christmas wreath and lights up?
Is it that much colder up in northern Ohio?
Or are you just running a little behind?

Been wishing for that kind of snowfall here in CT, all we got is rain.

And all the rain went into my basement, which is flooded. And the furnace kicked off, we got up this AM with no heat and no hot water.

I bathed with citrus scent wet ones and went my merry way.....TMI?
