You know...I am not typically one with 'victim' mentality but I got home from work again to day and someone had been in my apartment. Again, my bathroom door was closed. I can't see anything stolen...I just feel...violated.

No drafts and my A/C is off during the day while I am at work. My mother lived here with me for three months and she can testify to the fact that I never close the bathroom door except when other are staying with me. I sleep with the doors barracaded but when I am gone...anything can happen. I am not really afraid but it is weird to say the least.

Put them where they can't see them. If you have money there are companies that will set your apartment up and some PIs do this too I think

As long as it has a recorder....they are all the same. You can buy them at a Fry's if one is near you.

I would check your apartment first all over to make sure there are no cams there first. Check vents...book shelves...smoke detectors...look for stuff that you did not put therebefore....or loose boards or things in the wall

OH...BTW, like CBO said, don't expect to find a recorder. It might be wireless....in fact it could be a neighbor or who knows what....or he may even be using your DVR or what have you. Not trying to be paranoid, but I would be cautious and check thoroughly

I tried to break the lease and move but it would cost me too much money. They won't allow the lease to be broken.

My mother lived here for three months so I was never alone or the apt. unattended.

I haven't bought a camera. I may do that one. I am moving when the lease is up though. I've already began looking.


If I do happen to die - I have plenty of life insurance for my children, and all my life, notes, and paperwork are in my briefcases and on the hard drive of this computer.

If I die, it's been nice knowing you and rest assured I feel more love and safer than I ever have been.

I just posted a link to a cheap cam. It will connect to a PC or a DVR wirelessly I believe and it is small enough and uses batteries you can hide it anywhere.

Before you install the cam close the bathroom door. Just is case someone has a camera in there, so that they will not see you setting up the cam to catch them. Make it look like you are sweeping or something as you close the door so it does not appear suspicious. Point a cam at your front door and the bathroom door.

My locks have been changed three times since I've been here. The apt is secure while I am in it because it has a double deiboldt but when I am not here the office has a key to get in. *sigh*

Please just pray God's protection on me. I don't have the time and money for much. Thank-you all for worrying. My family check on me daily. I really don't live in the slums..it just feels like it. It is really a nice apartment on the Lake.

I thought about that too. I just went to bed and saw the lights flashing from my spoke detectors and got up and got a chair, unscrewed the light fixture, took down the vent in the hallway and looked for a camera. Now I am paranoid. I am so tired...please pray for a good night's sleep and safety.

There have been places I have lived in that carried spirits with it, but I never claimed it was haunted per se. I just knew I needed to pray and have others come over to pray. Some spirits are stubborn, or try to stick around.

I like to keep the Word going in my house and used to keep worship music on. Even when I wasn't home.

You might want to find out about the folks who stayed in that place before.

All the practical advice is great and should be considered. But after that, apply spiritual principles and know God is a deliverer.
