Has anyone ever seen an aura of light surrounding a person?
What do they mean?

I think Dennis Kucinich has. You might want to ask him. :)
Seriously though, no I've never seen that sort of thing, but I have heard of it. But I have no idea what it means. I have a prophetic gift but have never been used in this way.

Keith4him might know about this. I know he's been used to spiritually see things on and around people.

I've heard of people seeing auras just before they have an epileptic seizure. I'm not saying this in jest, by the way. I'm being serious.

I actually have. I have seen it cause someone was standing front of a light, LOL. I also have seen it is the spirit once. I was at an altar praying and the youth pastor came off the platform to pray with/for me. I opened my eyes enough right before he got to me and I saw the aura or light around him. He barley touched me and I fell in the floor for no telling how long. Once I got up I was in the spiritual zone. Seeing peoples problems, etc. People told me they saw the aura around me after that.

I have met people who claimed they could see aura's (and who read mine), but no one in a Church setting.

I know what you mean, but it's not so much seeing auras, but feeling them. Auras are signs, and the person having the seizure is most likely to know more than others, although those familiar with the person may also be able to tell. But I've never heard of auras of light with seizures.....:D

Well you are partly correct. I always had this strange feeling come over my body that is hard to explain before a seizure. But there was little flashes of light. I don't think that's the same as an aura. Thank the Lord I was healed of epilepsy.

The only kind of Aura I have ever experienced is the type that preceeds a migraine headache. Where my vision gets all weird and spotting, and sometimes jagged. Hard to describe.

I get these kinds of headaches too, My. They are called "classic migraines with optical disturbances" (or at least that's what the doctor told me. The first time I got one, I was sure it must be a brain tumor!!) Like you, I also get an aura (knowing) preceding the headache. Just like a lot of epileptics know when they are getting ready to have a seizure. (BTW, for me, if I stay away from cheeses, msg, and nuts and get regular 8 hrs. sleep a night, I hardly ever get them.)
But I'm not talking about those kinds of auras, which is really just a "knowing".
I'm talking about actually seeing a silouhette of light surrounding a person's body like they are glowing... "an aura of light" (perhaps aura is not the right word).

What's cool is sometimes I get whats called "Aura sans migraine", or a "silent migraine", which means I get the weird visual disturbances, but no pain! :bliss
(I just wish they were all like that!)
I did know, though, which aura's you were referring to. The new age kind of aura's. That some people are supposed to see, usually different colors as associated with different people, or moods, or other internal determining factors. It makes me think of Ross in the pilot episode of "Friends" telling Phoebe that his aura doesn't need to be cleansed, to which she replies "Fine. Be Murky."

Yes, that's why I said that the auras were felt (or in your case, seen, but they were only seen by you, not everyone else) by the person with the ailment.
They now have dogs that can be taught to 'see' auras for people with severe epilepsy. It's amazing how they can tell that their owner is about to have one.
Thank God for your healing!!

I know the episode! That was so funny! Phoebe was picking at the air around Ross! (Friends is my all-time favorite show. Uhhhh.... I mean IF I were a TV-watching heathen, then Friends would be my favorite show.)

This is a very angelic, soft white/yellowish surrounding light. I believe it to be spiritual.

When I saw it on the youth pastor it only for a moment cause I had barely opened my eyes. As far as how long it was on me I can not say. Maybe it stopped when I got to the Steak and Shake. LOL. All I know is I have been used in the gifts ever since. This happened roughly 7 years ago.

Steak and Shake! Love it!
Has anyone ever told you they've seen the light on you again? Do you think you "glow" when used in the giftings? Which particular giftings do you possess? Have you ever been used in healings?
I'm sorry to plague you with questions.... but thanks for your responses!!

I love the "Shake" too but alas in AZ there aren't any.
I have not been told of any glow exactly, beyond the first time. I know that I have been told I stuck out in the crowd type thing not sure if they saw a light or aura. I have been used in healings, prophecy, word of knowledge. Mostly the spoken gifts. I have never given a message in tongues or the interpretation. Though I have know when it is coming and known the message and the interpretation, but knew that I was not the one to give it. These gifts are not something I always move in. I have not moved in them in a little while. Though I do get words of knowledge still from time to time. I never want to get where I rely on having the gift present. I want to move as God moves me. I do not want to get a bad rep for being 'Johnny faker' cause that is what happens to people from time to time. Those used in the spoken gifts often get bad reps for using the gifts. If you do not believe me read the thread about the Bustard brothers.

Well I AM a TV watching heathen, so I have the entire series on DVD. :D
I guess I didn't mean that they WERE new age per se, just that I have only heard reference to them from a new agey perspective. Which means I have nothing to add to this discussion and will shut up now :heeheehee

WOW, it's really hard to pick just one. I can say that my favorite season is 5, when Chandler and Monica are together, but no one knows. But if I have to pick a fav, it would be "The one with Unagi" from Season 6, because it makes me think of my husband, and I just laugh right out loud. He uses that line all the time! LOL
How about yours? :hijacked
