I did.
Today.
A little history first.
I'm in nursing school, graduating in May with my Associate Degree. Part of my schooling involves a management class, which is every Monday.
The last couple weeks have been hectic. LadyRev's grandma, who is like my own, fell and broke her hip three weeks ago. We were going to see her almost every evening in a hospital an hour away, and both of us working as well.
Last week, I had spring break, so the midnight nurse took the opportunity to go on vacation. This meant that the evening shift was short a nurse with me working midnights, so I came in for a couple hours to do the supper med passes. I had just one day off last week (which wasn't really a day off, considering that I was working midnights).
Well, I had to write a paper for this management class. I have four to write, actually, but only one of them due today. I solicited the help of my 14 yr old daughter, who is an excellent writer, to help me in my endeavor.
I had to do that because with the death of LR's grandma this week, my helping her family in going through her personal effects, working, going to LR's house to help her parents, working, and trying to sleep a decent time (usually about 5 hours in the morning), well, I didn't have a lot of time.
So, I thought the paper I had to write involved a cover page, 2-3 pages of the actual paper, and a reference page, but when I looked up the description of the paper, it was jut a political letter to my congressman about a health care issue.
Ok, that's easy enough. How nice of him (my instructor) to give me such an easy assignment during spring break!!
So, my daughter writes the letter, and I come home last night and finished it up. How nice. I'm all ready for class now.
So, I get to class and comment to my fellow classmates sitting around me how easy this was considering my hectic week.
At first, silence.
Um...that wasn't the assignment, the ethics paper was due. You know, the one where you needed a cover page, 2-3 pages, and a reference page.
:chirp:chirp:chirp:chirp:chirp:chirp:chirp:chirp
Of course this would happen to me!! I mean, it's not bad enough that I've had the week from Hades, but now I've embarrassed myself in front of everyone.
So I tell my instructor what happened as I turn in my pathetic political action paper. I then ask if I should bother with it or just drop out of the class! LOL!
Well, he's giving me until next Monday to complete it. Points will be taken off, but he's confident that I'll make a good score anyway.
I'm such an idiot. All these years in school and finally something happens to me that only happens to other people.
Why couldn't it be winning the lottery???
