Wonderful!! I pray it blesses others as it has you and me...:bliss
NOT TO us, O Lord, not to us but to Your name give glory,
for Your mercy and loving-kindness
and for the sake of Your truth and faithfulness!

This was the scripture I chose to read at our Bible School Grad Baccalaureate service. If anything is accomplished for the Kingdom of God, it will be because of Him.
1 Cor 13:1-7
13:1 IF I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God's love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal.
2 And if I have prophetic powers ( the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God's love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody).
3 Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God's love in me), I gain nothing.
4 Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily.
5 It is not conceited (arrogant and inflated with pride); it is not rude (unmannerly) and does not act unbecomingly. Love (God's love in us) does not insist on its own rights or its own way, for it is not self-seeking; it is not touchy or fretful or resentful; it takes no account of the evil done to it [it pays no attention to a suffered wrong].
6 It does not rejoice at injustice and unrighteousness, but rejoices when right and truth prevail.
7 Love bears up under anything and everything that comes, is ever ready to believe the best of every person, its hopes are fadeless under all circumstances, and it endures everything [without weakening].

Well I sure hope I am not a sounding brass or tinkling cymbal this morning.
It's not my week to sing but one of the soprano's couldn't be there so I got a call yesterday to take her turn and she'll do mine next week. So my Assistant Pastor's wife gives me the song they want to do as a special yesterday before prayer, and I realize the old grey mare, her memory just ain't what it used to be.
After singing in over and over and over and over and over and over and over...
I think I have it.
Now, if I can just add some love I'll be all set. :)
Have a good day in the Lord Barb!!!

One thing I have found is that if someone sings unto the lord with praise and worship and is NOT singing for their own glory I can over look a missed word or two and even a missed note. Why? because when done for God's glory it isn't really about trying to make me like you as much as it is trying to lead me into a place of worship. You just sing to him with all your heart and everything will be just as it should be.

We ended up not doing the song! All that practice.. must have spent two hours or more last night singing it over and over and over. HA
Gotta love God's sense of humor. :toofunny
Jax, I think you're right!
Barb, you should take a trip up here!!

I'm thinking about it...Lord willing, maybe in the Fall...
Then shall your light break forth like the morning, and your healing (your restoration and the power of a new life) shall spring forth speedily; your righteousness (your rightness, your justice, and your right relationship with God) shall go before you [conducting you to peace and prosperity], and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard. [Ex 14:19,20; Isa 52:12.]
Here I am. If you take away from your midst yokes of oppression [wherever you find them], the finger pointed in scorn [toward the oppressed or the godly], and every form of false, harsh, unjust, and wicked speaking, [Ex 3:14.]
And if you pour out that with which you sustain your own life for the hungry and satisfy the need of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in darkness, and your obscurity and gloom become like the noonday.
And the Lord shall guide you continually and satisfy you in drought and in dry places and make strong your bones. And you shall be like a watered garden and like a spring of water whose waters fail not (Isaiah 58:8-11). AMP
Bumping this good Word for those who may have missed it this morning...be blessed...

I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace and confidence.
In the world you have tribulation and trials and distress and frustration;
but be of good cheer [take courage; be confident, certain, undaunted]!
For I have overcome the world. [I have deprived it of power to harm you
and have conquered it for you.]
