View Full Version : I met DA and Raven Tonight!
Tonight Mr. & Mrs. Pianoman and myself were honored to break bread with Raven and his wife and with Daniel Alicia here in Nashville.
DA is not obnoxious at all in person! LOL!!! He was a very laid back quite spoken man. He did not insult any of us at any time during our fellowship!
Raven and his wife are a wonderful couple I was honored to meet for the first time also. As most of you know Pentecost is like family and any time you get a group of us together there are an amazing number of people we all know in common with each other either in person or by reputation.
Time passed all to quickly and we talked long past the time our plates were taken away by the waiter and our bill kindly paid by Raven. We owe him lunch or dinner the next time he and Mrs. Raven make it to Jackson. Which now means I owe Elder's Epley & Groce, Pianoman, and now Raven a meal! LOL!!
We resolved all issues within Oneness Pentecost at dinner tonight so all is well. There will be no more strife or division. Oh, and I have an ocean front piece of proptery in Arizona to sell you.
Sherri became ill and Darcie was tired so we were not blessed with their presence as we had hoped but had a great time in spite of their absence.

CC1,
I told you guys. I was so totally shocked when I meet Dan Alicea for the first time. He is humble, soft-skoken, and so handsome. Made me almost wish I was a little Hispanic girl.
Sure wish I had met the rest you broke bread with.
Blessigns, Rhoni
My husband & I are thinking of visiting the Nashville area in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if you could give me any tips on what to see and where to stay?
Just got into Jackson about 40 minutes ago from Nashville ... WHAT A PLEASANT EVENING!!! We ate at Amerigo's ... the food was good ... the fellowship PRICELESS.
Got to meet some the best people you'll ever meet.
Some observations:
CC1 is a gracious conversationalist who has great stories to share ... He has an impeccable recollection of events. His love for God was evident in his speech.
Raven and Mrs. Raven are just unbelievable ... they are the model couple ... Raven is a paternal figure whose demeanor commands respect and confidence. Sister Raven complements him perfectly and is very pretty and sweet.
Pianoman is laid back and just as gracious. He also exudes sincere kindheartedness.
Mrs. Pianowoman is lively, outspoken and very much in love w/ her Pianodude.
Thank you so much Raven and Mrs. Raven for dinner ... we owe you big time. They have been a blessing to my life in so many ways ...
Here are some pics ... Pianoman and Mrs Pianoman left before we took them:

I have told several people in the past what Dan is like in real life. Inevitably they are still shocked to find what a meek soul he really is.
It is good to hear about Raven!!! I have not yet been privileged to meet him face to face. He is always gracious and genteel online, I feared he may have been an ogre in real life.

Raven has some really powerful posts. I tend to think he is as gracious and genteel in real life.
The reason Daniel comes across two different ways is because he is a deep thinker, and like so many of us...it is easier to voice your opinion on paper than it is face to face. Believe it or not, Daniel does not like conflict.
Blessings, Rhoni
P.S. I am sorry about the misspelled words in my previous post. I didn't see them in time to correct them. I don't have a problem spelling as much as I do typing. I refused to take typing in school because it was considered the 'girl' thing to do. I guess I always bucked the traditional way...even in my teens. I just didn't find my voice until in my late 30's.

Being Hispanic myself, this sounds a bit "you know" and I expect DA could vouch that all girls are attracted to a handsome guy like him, too. ;)

Man, I hated it that I missed this. I am feeling a little better today, but last night I would have been the ultimate party dud. I guess I just needed a night off at home to relax. Looks like you had fun. Did anyone eat the amazing butter crust cake dessert?

Totally cool Sherri ... I've been battling a cold and allergies myself ... Mom, JC and Darcie have been a little under the weather too ... must be a bug of some sort ....
No one had dessert but I take your word that it's amazing ...
I'm more of chocolate cake eater myself.

I actually went with the intention of trying it. I was going to eat something light like their salad with goat cheese and grilled chicken. However I was hungry for something hot and ended up eating a bigger, heavier meal and did not have room for dessert. If one of the others had broken down and ordered one I am sure my very weak will when it comes to desserts would have crumbled and full or not I would have also.
I did remember your rave review for the butter crunch thingy and I will try it sometime although it will go against every grain in my body to order something not chocolate for dessert!

First of all, thanks to Raven for picking up the tab. I was not expecting that! :)
Mrs. Pianoman hit it off with Mrs. Raven! They are thinking of starting a support group for AFF member spouses! :lol Raven and DA got an ear full of what Mrs. Pianoman thinks of AFF! :D
It was really great to meet DA and Raven for the first time in person. DA is very humble and soft spoken in person, which is quite different than what I expected from reading his posts! Raven in person reflects the way he writes.
Both men are gentlemen and possess a Christ-like spirit in conversation. I am honored that I had a chance to meet these men!
Last but not least, it's always fun to spend time with CC1! :D (I do not speak for Mrs. Pianoman!) :ursofunny

My husband & I are thinking of visiting the Nashville area in a couple of weeks and I was wondering if you could give me any tips on what to see and where to stay?
I guess nobody answered this question yet. Visitors to Nashville usually will visit the Opryland Hotel with it's huge atriums, downtown Nashville at night, and music row during the day.
If you have the budget, stay at the Opryland Hotel! Otherwise, there are good places to stay all over the city. The safest part of the city in the southern part near Brentwood.

I was too tired late last night to think hard enough to answer this.
In additoin to what you listed of course there is the Grand Ole Opry, Opry Mills Mall, The Country Music Hall of Fame, The Ryman auditorium, lots of good restaurants, the Parthanon, The Hermitage (home of President Andrew Jackson), various civil war sites and some historic homes. Also there are always a lot of entertainment events going on you could find onthe internet.

Just got in from Nashville. Stayed over so that Sister Raven could get in a little shopping. [That's good PR on my part] We may want to do this again!
It was our priviledge and honor to fellowship and breakbread with some tremendous people last night. CC1, Pianoman, Mrs Pianoman, and Daniel Alicea. I really didn't want to leave but the hour grew late. We had a great time with a discussion of many subjects and many people. [Yes, many of you posters names did come up.] If these members are any indication of the caliber of people on this Forum we are in good company indeed! Pianoman and CC1 both show a great sense of humor and are accomplished raconteurs. I hope to sit down in quieter surroundings some time in the future and become even better acquainted. [ Begging Mrs. Pianoman's permission. ] I was very impressed with [AL] Mrs. Pianoman. I commend her for showing a great spirit in putting up with us fellow Posters. I'm glad she was there for Mrs. Raven's sake and in turn for my sake. :) Daniel, of course, is special to many of us. To finally meet this quiet warrior was an honor for us all. God's hand is certainly on Dan and it is yet to be seen what great things that are going to come from him in the future. There is a spirit of unity moving within the body of Christ and I was priviledged to encounter a great manifestation of it last night. Thanks friends for your friendship! Pianoman,
I almost fell off my chair laughing when after Mrs. Pianoman gave her lecture on how AFF was nothing but a place of gossip, etc then you nailed her on her woman's "club" gossiping. LOL!!! I noticed she didn't have a comeback for that and actually looked a little sheepish for the first time since I met her. How was the sofa that night? Comfortable? LOL!!!
It was also funny for her to be confronted with the good of AFF that she never sees like DA's siste and husband finding Eddie & Sherri and the other things everybody at the table told her. Maybe eventually she will have a better picture of AFF and it's predecessors.

Pianoman,
I almost fell off my chair laughing when after Mrs. Pianoman gave her lecture on how AFF was nothing but a place of gossip, etc that you nailed her on her woman's "club" gossiping. LOL!!! I noticed she didn't have a comeback for that and actually looked a little sheepish for the first time since I met her. How was the sofa that night? Comfortable? LOL!!!

Gossiping is OK as long as you do it face to face!! :ursofunny Her friend's loss of her husband because of an internet chat room with old friends plays a big part in her opinion of AFF.
I do think that Mrs. Pianoman got a better idea and view of what AFF is about. It really helped to have the quality of folks that we had at the table! :)

Hey, that sounds awesome. I was only kidding, but hey, I'm always available for free lunch!! :) I don't hang w/JB much anymore so it'd be good to hang out w/him too. We'll firm it up later. Looking forward to it. I'll have to find a girdle to wear for the photos that we post on here. :ursofunny
